(2:10) That was Rick Monday grounding out against Steve Rogers as a member of the Chicago Cubs in 1973

I was there on the blue Monday. The Dodgers had so much depth! Baker, Guerrero, Garvey, Cey, Valenzuela, etc. etc. etc.

Bill Lee has a very over inflated opinion of himself.

Losing 2-1 that was on the Expos offense cause they had Fernando in trouble early & he got out of it. When you have a guy on the ropes you gotta knock him out.

My issue in this telling is how marginalized Gary Carter was in the edits and by his teammates. He was their leader, but the locker room seemed to have venom toward him. It broke his heart and ultimately made him at peace going to the Mets where he was appreciated by his teammates.

What the Expos players were saying about Gary Carter was true. He was a lot like Steve Garvey (who ironically is my favorite baseball player of all-time). Both were extremely popular players with fans, very personable with the media but not the most well regarded players with their teammates.
