I wonder about the use of pencil with the wax overtop of it. How does it end up white without seeing the pencil marking?

what's the little black plug you put in to the holes before putting it in the dye? Where does one find those? Do you remove them after? Or do they remain in the egg?
@righteouseggs1124
2 жыл бұрын
The black plug is actually just a small piece of beeswax. You can make your own plugs from the same beeswax that is used for writing with the kistka/stylus tool. The beeswax lines and plug are later removed by melting, just like normal. (See 3:50 in the video for wax removal technique.) Dark beeswax is available in my shop at: UkrainianEggSupplies.etsy.com

I could not work with a shadow casting on the egg as I use my wax marker. Lighting seems dim, but product is amazing.

That's why most of us artists use a desk lamp over our work to illuminate our work area and avoid the shadows. I've been making them and giving lessons on making them for over 35 years. I'm 75 now. And each one is a miniature creation, each one of my babies is different. I don't like making the same design over and over.

This video is lovely. There is something calming, moving, and inspiring about the combination of the artist's hands at work, the director's eye, and the tenderly uplifting and haunting music.
