I've watched a few of Ameys videos and I think what she is doing is great. I knew nothing about stuttering until I watched her videos yesterday. Literally I had almost no exposure to it. Her explanations are so helpful.

Amey, hi. I have question for you, if you get to see these comments yourself. You say that you are not "brave" to stutter openly, that you are "just living your life." But you also say that you were once a covert stutter. Was there not at least a point where you had to be quite brave in order to start stuttering openly? I understand that something may have shifted in your life, or your self-awareness and you simply could no longer go on being covert. But that doesn't mean it did not take courage, does it?

Hi, I'm Hamid I am 25 years old and from Iran. I'm stuttering 6 months after my master's thesis at the University of defend myself I am very worried Because last year I gave a bad time for stuttering seminar. Stuttering is very, very painful In the hope that we find a cure for stuttering.

I am never bothered by this. Honestly. But I call myself a listener rather than an observer when talking with someone.

Thank you for doing this video. I have faced a similar struggle my entire life and now have 1 child (of my 4) that stutters. And honestly watching him stutter is harder than going through it myself. I just want to fix him but going through it myself....I know that doesnt happen. You are inspirational and I wish you lived close...I have a feeling we would make great friends. Keep your great attitude and know you are not alone in the world. ♡

you are brave amy.....I used to stutter a lot too....buy after many years of speech therapy...my speech has considerably improve. But its still there I know. You can try yoga (surya namaskar and pranayama (breathing exercises)). It will help you to calm down and have more control on your speech :)

I have considered going to the convention they hold every year. I know how hard it was for me as a child growing up. Many grades of school in speech class (somehow they didn't count toward speech credits in 12th ill never know.. lol) But i have some things id love to share with you and everyone else. Speech class didn't help me one bit.. 6 years of it. Instead I listen to myself and what i felt needed to change.

I also will connect words, Sometimes slow myself down ( I tend to speak fast), Most of what i have learned that has helped me was in my head. Hard to explain really. But i would sutter more if nervous or excited. I have self tought myself how to become better. One weird thing.. tell me if anyone else does this... is that any new person i meet.. I hardly stutter at all. New boss.. Friend of a friend.. etc etc.

Hi Amy... I also stutter.. Much more as a child then now...Most of it has gone away.. but not fully. You are very brave to do a video. Over the course of my life my stuttering has changed greatly. Kinda like i went though every kind in my venture to stop it. I would love to share my own techniques if i may. But in comments really isn't the place. I do similar things.. I know when i will stutter and swap out words.

You are brave, I could never expose myself like this. Well, maybe now that I've seen your video I may just have to stop masking my stutter and embrace it! Thanks for uploading this, you are an inspiration Amy! -carla
