HI Ryan, I am developing an MR game for Hololens 2 in Unity. It is currently in the Build stage, but there is no "Device" option available, and an error will be reported when executing it directly. Currently I use unity2019.4.10, visual studio 2019 16.5.4, windows SDK (10.0.18362.0) in Visual Studio. thank you very much

I get the error message, there were deployment errors and vs keeps writing "Debugging Monitor cannot start without a Machine Name. Open project properties and specify a Machine Name under 'Configuration Properties -> Debugging'" although it is set in project properties. All my settings are correct I think, I checked many times. Any idea? Might this be a bug? Version numbers are: Unity 2019.4.21f1, VS 2019 16.10.2 SDK 10.0.19041.685

Hi, I was just able to deploy to the HoloLens using MRTK 2.5.4 and Unity 2019.4.26f. The only 3D object in my scene was a cube. I haven't used VisionLib before, but I would guess that it is causing the problem. Try a new project without using VisionLib, and see if you can deploy. If you are able to, there might be additional configuration required for the VisionLib SDK.

Great video!!! I'm really curious about, how future devices could reduce the delay of hand tracking, do you think developing products for current devices would be helpful for future ones(with better sensor and tracking algorithm)?
@RyanXR
3 жыл бұрын
I think it will depend on how much CPU and graphics power can be put into future headsets. The HoloLens has pretty good sensors and tracking algorithms, but I think the tracking delay could be reduced by bumping up the specs of the CPU which is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850, and the graphics processing which is Microsoft's "holographic processing unit (HPU)".

Hey Miguel, thanks for watching! I haven’t done any development for Oculus Quest unfortunately, so I’m not familiar with using MRTK with it. You might be able to use the hand-tracking code from this video, but I’m not 100% certain it will work. It is also possible Oculus doesn’t allow you to change the hand model, but I hope that is not the case so you are able to complete your project. Sorry I couldn’t help you with this one. Best of luck!

Microsoft didn't specifically mention UX for measuring distance between objects, but the Measure app for iOS is a great example imo. I agree, an individual pointer from a mouse or hand tracking would be the most accurate for click interactions. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Interesting video, I could see this being used for virtual stores as it provides a much better experience then a website. Seems like that will that be the death of brick and mortar stores. Is there any features in Minsar to keep things to scale? IE the guitars would be to scale of the surroundings?
@jegibson10
3 жыл бұрын
Like in Minsar, can you define the outlets on the wall as being 6” tall, or the wall being 8’ tall, so that when you drop in an object (guitar) it ends up to scale? For a practice use, a furniture company could upload all of their products, and you could see the furniture in your room, and then size would be accurate in relation to your space.
@RyanXR
3 жыл бұрын
You aren’t able to set a scale in the way you are describing, you just have to resize the assets once you import them into your project. I believe the size of the asset is set when it is created with 3D modeling software. So for your furniture example, the furniture models would need to be modeled to their real-life dimensions.

@@RyanXR Hello both of you :) In this experience, you have used a Simple Anchor, which willingly doesn't take the surrounding space into account. However, you could have used the Horizontal or Vertical Surface Anchor, and specify its size. In a future update, we will then allow the Creator of the experience to allow our Viewer to automatically resize the experience based on the available space.
