I actually really like this car my Ma drove a normal C200 sport W202 estate and it was always great I have always wanted to get the AMG on those monoblocs as an estate for myself it would make a great modern classic

if anyone is watching now, could you let me know what are some common mechanical problems with these cars. Looking to get one but have seen nothing but praises. I would like to know some of the downsides just so I'm prepared when buying.

Had one of these in the 1970s. The most practical car I have ever owned. Carried six people with no problem, or a fridge and cooker in the back with the seats down. Loved it! I agree that the driver is the crumple zone.

Your wrong about the C36 AMG being just a souped up C280.. there's a little bit more to it than that if yo do your research and in fact the C36 was a more specialised car having had the engine hand built by AMG before they were incorporated into Mercedes. The c43 came later with the Mercedes V8 lump shoe horned into a c class chassis. I have owned both and both ere great cars tho the c36 for me felt a little more focused.

I want to see someone turn one of these into a camper for the hell of it. Remove the passenger and rear seats, slap down a bed frame/storage along the side of the car, a little kitchenette behind the driver's seat, hell even throw a little tv monitor against the rear of the car. Some curtains that go all the way around. Would be a gem.

This was an excellent clarification of the floor plan. The online text descriptions are confusing, but this is clear. This would be incredibly useful and practical, while being thrifty and easy to park.

Ha !! I thought this might just be "Clifford Peters", of "Autorossa" fame, in Ringwood, Hampshire... He restores 500's. 🤗 Nice video, I have two of these, in the murky past. Totally underrated, totally practical & charming !!

Our dry British humour - brilliant ! Always loved these. Be great to see more content. I totally need a classic 500/126 in my life. Always been fascinated by them and love the sound, from the starter motor to the 2 cylinder noise.

Great video! As a child of the 80’s, I’ve always loved the 944. I am seriously thinking of finding a good one and making it a daily driver. I believe that these vehicles need to be driven or else they’ll be in decline. Thanks.

This was the bulletproof, quality, savage and prestige era of Mercedes, and you have here the W202 C43 which was one of the best. In this era, the 5.6 litre AMG V8 was the top spec AMG engine, and only 20-odd, yes 20-something W202s got that engine.

I wouldn't dare to buy a s4. Those are colossal money pits. Very expensive ownership. The c43's are very reliable. Have just over 200k hard miles on mine and it runs great. Just when it breaks parts are expensive. Over the past 8 years I probably on average spent about 1-2k a year on repairs

Probably not...most of these cars were completely worthless few yrs ago and will have therefore been neglected. Even now, they're not actually worth a fortune to justify spending the money bringing them back to life unless you got money to burn or are willing to do all the work yourself.

Great video! I absolutely love my Merc! My C43 was imported from Japan as they don’t have salt on the roads and they drive on the right. Completely original, no rust at all, immaculate underneath, extensive full service history, only 65k miles and near perfect paint work for £14k! Do your homework first but definitely worth buying in good condition and garaging. Great cars to drive and an appreciating classic…hopefully!
