Got the game last year, easily my best spending of $30. The game just makes you feel happy, its beautiful, the music is soothing, and the atmosphere (though creepy at times) just screams "fun adventure". This will probably remain my favorite game.

I was first introduced by a friend when I was roughly 14 years old I think. Back then they hadn't implemented an ending (the rocket blueprints) yet. As oppose to that friend, i was really hesitant and actually kinda scared. But the absolute beauty of the world in combination with an amazing story kept me coming back. It took me 8 playthroughs and 270 hrs to get (mostly over that). Now the only fear to overcome are the flipping bleeders. They swim up to you with their gross little tentacles without even noticing. I've got nothing else to say other than I love this game. I like that it's cheap, but I'd pay triple A money for it that I wouldn't for actual triple A titles with much more content.

God, I love this game. I've put hundreds of hours in, and it is tradition for me to go back every once in a while to see how fast I can beat the game in a casual sense. First I made about 12 hours, then I shaved it off to 9 hours, then most recently I was able to finish the game in just about 6 hours. Even with all that, I still go back, and enjoy the game so much.

The game is beautiful but the best aspect of the game is it's horror/terror side. And unfortunately that is missing from Below Zero. I would want to play a Subnautica with more dangers, harder to get resources and underwater weapons with bases having automated self defense aspects: turrets, lasers, electroshock and so on and at night the base would be attacked by monsters. You see where I am going with this?!

subnauticas building engine is not something i would consider "creative", its too restricted, and it doesnt give you enough options, i would consider a build option like that of satisfactory or the return of the ancients precursor build type, something more modular, with more options.

I understand the desire to create a game where you can express zero violence. But it's kinda undermined when the world you find yourself in is extremely violent towards you. XD I mean, I love Subnautica, it's just something that does not make much sense to me.

My first memory was opening up that bottom hatch to climb out for the first time. Seeing that BEAUTIFUL rabbit ray swim by my feet had me itching to see the rest of the world. I followed that ray for a bit, taking pictures because it was so gorgeous. The reef was gorgeous. The soundtrack was gorgeous. Everything was gorgeous. Until Mr. Cuddles introduced himself. He was probably being nice, screaming out his salutations from across the way, and I think there was an invite to dinner at his place, but, to be honest, I can't tell you what he was trying to say because my own screams drowned out his own. I guess my accent was off, because the next thing I know, he's trying to kill me. Looking it up all these years later, I've discovered that my screams translated into something horrendously offensive and now all the Reapers know me as "that guy" and want to eat my face. Ah, memories.

As they say with Subnautica, the first time around you're amazed and horrified, but the second, third fourth, and so on, you just tell everything to screw off. But that's the thing, you play so many more times than just twice.

I've been playing this game since a bit before the wrecks update in early access and i still haven't ran out of things to do. The absolute freedom subnautica gives you is probably the reason i've played it for so long. Recently i did a hardcore run where i killed every leviathan on the map and found out a bunch of unique methods to do so (my favorite method has got to be using the cyclops as a battering ram and deflecting attacks with the shield). I'm currently attempting to beat a modded run of the game on hardcore. I really hope whatever game that comes next has the same replay value as the first did because at least for me i didn't get that same replay value from bz (still put 35 hours into it tho).

One of the terrifying things happened to me while playing was just roaming the world searching for kyanite (didn’t know abt the lava zone at that time) and then reached the end and when I saw the bottomless dark I wondered "what is this biome?" And I was terrified a bit but said "man what could go wrong" and then I swam forward not to the bottom and when I heard the PDA saying "entering ecological dead zone" I freaked out and started swimming to the main map and then promised myself that I’d never go back there whatever the cost

I like almost all the music in the game, but on the other hand that of the end credits is really bad and does not match the rest and the atmosphere of the adventure in my opinion. I really like that of BZ too by the way, one of the only aspects of the game that I find really successful
