Not bad if you like the tire dressing look. I always just thought it made tires look like they're covered in oil. I prefer my tires to look matte and dry, like good clean rubber would.

Why would you want to do
@Metal_Face_Doom

Why you ask? Well, for people like me who have a limited choice of tires to choose from based on my application, I'm stuck with wheel options that have white lettering. I don't want white lettering on my truck because it looks tacky. This video helped me eliminate that issue.

I was going to try this until I watched the next video on removing white letters from tires. He used Citrus Strip on the white letters then scrubbed the white off using a brass brush then a nylon brush. Final result looked like it was never there. kzitem.info/news/bejne/r6Siz4SCsaKlpWU

I don't recommend using Citric acid on rubber products as it degrades the rubber. Some tires have the white rubber all the way thru the tire, as tires were original made of white rubber, and then later, a black dye was added. Be Safe. Walt

It's hard to see the name of the black paint product in the yellow can. Can you please provide the name of the product?

We tried sending you a picture of the can by cell, awhile back but couldn't figure out how on this site. It's Sign Painters "1 SHOT", 199-L Lettering Black. Price ranges on ebay from $10 to $23 for 8 ounces. That should last a lifetime. Walt

Great video Walt. How does the black lettering hold up?

Hello Collin. We've been doing this for about one year now. It looks like a permanent fix. You'll have to reapply the Superior tire spray once in awhile which is to be expected.

Tire shops won't do that type of work on older tires, especially any tire over 5 years of DOT marks.

Just turn the tires so the white lettering is on the inside, it's only on one side.

It's nearly impossible to have tires older than 6 years old, turned around by a tire dealership. Major car manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Buick, Dodge, Ford, Jeep, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, and VW now recommend on their websites and in owners handbooks that tires be replaced after six years. As a result, tire chains won't touch seven year old or older tires because of the liability. It all goes back to the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire rollover issues from 1997 to 2001, which resulted in stricter tire laws across the country. This video is of a 2001 Jeep with 10,600 miles with tires on it from June, 2000, but still in beautiful condition.

You guys know one side has white letters and the other side has black letters so all you need to do is mount the tire the other way.

This IS the inside lettering on these wheels. On my truck I always have the tires installed with the white lettering inside and not exposed. You cant even see it unless you look under the truck. If you have a high lifted truck I can see where you may want to do this.
