1 foot apart is incorrect. From the Little Tykes 2-in-1 Snug ‘N Secure Swing instruction manual: “Attachment points should be 18” apart from each other.”

I have my 2006 DRZ400SM for 2 weeks now. Yesterday my dash continuously went on and off during riding but engine didn't stall. Before that the engine stalled and power was completely shut and also didn't react to the keys. Today I turned the key and no power nothing but the battery is oke just no connection. Completely dead. Now I came across your video and I will try this tomorrow thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the video. I had similar problems but your fix didn’t work for me… but at least give me some good insights. Above that bottom plate you pushed up is a plate with contacts which are forced onto that bottom plate by springs. (Contact me via my KZitem channel if you want to see photos). I suspect for you the springs are shot? Anyway, for mine I just took it all apart and gave it a good clean, re-shining the bottom plates contacts with fine wet-and-dry, one of which was quite corroded. That fixed it for me. While I was in there it was interesting to see the key barrel could also be removed, so if you did buy a new one then you have the option of fitting that to it so you could keep the same key.

@devinnewell9611

If you want it to ride like shit you sure can! Best bet is you can either run cheap crappy shock extenders. Or get you a set of rough country shocks for 2-4 inch lift applications

Elizabeth Hernandez his shocks had enough travel so he didn’t need to but I think with factory shocks you might want to look into longer ones, depends what you want in ride quality

All it takes is a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the headlight. You access that same 10mm nut you used. If you notice there is a special washer attached to it, which acts like a gear when you use the screwdriver.

I'm about to replace my struts with the Bilstein 5100's, so it'll be necessary for me to have mounting hardware. How concerned should I be with reusing the top and bottom mounting brackets, bolts, etc? Is it worth the $70 to replace the brackets at the very least?

I replaced the shock in the strut assembly. Keeping the original coil Spring is a much cheaper alternative than buying the whole strut
