This song by The Commodores says it all. It reminds us to stop and think back to the first time we met that very special someone. Now they didn’t write the book of love but this song gives us the blueprint of love past, present and future. That’s why I played this song on the campus radio station. Very soulful and meaningful song.❤

Who's still listening in 2024? This song takes me back to childhood. One of my Popz favorites. My Popz is battling cancer. Had a mild heart attack a couple of days ago. Praying his strength. I know Jehovah Rapha can heal him. My Popz is a star! Love that guy ❤🙏🏼❤

This song was originally released on the 1981 album "In the Pocket" when Lionel Richie was definitely still a member of the Commodores (he sung lead on the hits "Lady (You Bring Me Up)" and "Oh No"). Walter Orange wrote this song and sings lead. It is possible that Lionel had no contribution to this particular song.
