Did he truly write this back then? Was latin deep enough to describe things in such detail? Are the translations taking any liberties?

Day and night. The original book and audiobook were too hard for me to get through. Boring and too verbose. This is so easy to listen to and absorb. Thank you@VoxLegendi!

Wisdom is about having less and using it to better the common good. No matter what you say or do, my task is to be GOOD. Profound! Thanks VoxLegendi for this and to Marcus Aurelius who still lives with us even after 2000 years

43:17 - 44:01 This idea destroyes social hierarchy if used, can disconnect you from the reality and the people care about. Some of his ideas are double edged and can lead to problems in the modern society,if used. Yet he could have been the most wise philosopher ever lived. Philosophy improves mental health and hapines if you are able to understand the ideas it presents you. Philosophy is one of the most underrated way to cure depression, insecurities and all kind of personal issue and trauma, especially stoic idelogy.

Regarding what you said about philosophy, very true. It is a shame that philosophy isn't a required class in school. Philosophy is medicine for the mind, with no cost and no complications.

Its only been a couple thousand years. Thats just a moment in time for the earth. His point wasn’t that people will forget you immediately, but that all fame and recognition is temporary.

Today he might say - "I learned not to be a complete douche bag on social media & to refuse to be a narcissist whose life is centered around my own insecurities, while trying to portray to the outside world that I have it all together."

I am here because it is keeping me in check of my own reactions to how I was just treated. Thought we were friends. Just trying to keep my handling of it all ok. Gotta say. It is hard. You have to fight against every urge and instinct of the human heart and mind. This helps i guess. Still sucks what is happening tho. At least I recognize it.

I find it funny that people that claim to be trans have no inner peace for they are never accepting of themselfs. They always to to be dramatic and in your face. They always wish to change their bodys to fit the illusion of want. I wish they understood that sometimes its better to keep the body they are in and live this life as they are. See a different perspective.

The conscious mind and listening to your deeper inner spirit, your heart listening closely, will guide you into a peaceful life. There is only one GOD.. and the Holy Spirit God's spirit guides us. Our angels watch over us.If we reject his spirit, we receive a different spirit, an evil one.The majority of the 🌎 world are living for self gratification, and humanity is destroying itself and the planet. ❤

Thank you for the audiobook. The reading is superb. About "Meditations": It is repetitive and naïve. It has a few tidbits of wisdom here and there, but not much. The overall impression it gives is that it sounds like a juvenile self-help book. Thankfully, I heard than read it. Reading it as a written book would be an ordeal.
