I'm glad there aren't comments in this thread that the song 'Where did you sleep last night' supposedly is about a philandering girl. (because it is not.) Anyway, with songs I focus on rythm, melodies and musical expressiveness more than on song lyircs.

People have often questioned what was so great about Kurt. He was brimming with soul. All the great singers back then .. Kurt, Chris Cornell, Layne, Weiland, Vedder, Scott Lucas.. they all had that same badass soul.

Man that voice in “HORRIFIED”. He can play just about damn anything and when he opens his mouth, it’s instantly sick and iconic.

I can't believe that with all this technology no one's has dare to make a cd of Kurt Cobain in Nirvana with all the recording sessions? Beatles did it and so many ppl, the world deserve to hear his voice and forever be remembered. But then again I'm just a fan.

Because almost everything is already available on bootlegs and most of what was left took a long time to prepare, clean up, produce and release as the "With The Lights Out" boxset. The Beatles stuff on Anthology and such was properly recorded radio, studio material back when bootlegs didn't exist or had horrid quality.

I think Horrified was an intentionally horrible song to fuck with the radio station. If you think that song is good just because it's Nirvana, you are sadly mistaken. I love chaos pieces like Hairspray Queen and Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol, but this is just plain bad. Like a 13 year olds jamming for the first time. Like I said, obviously intentional.

So bluesy where did you sleep is. So much soul, he blended punk rock and traditional folk. How fucking innovative. 2 genres who don't fit in the respective category of 90's yet bring punk and folk back. Kurt was something else man. Fuck

The *candid photography* in this studio session really catches some interesting, vulnerable shots. For instance, 5:22 shows a shapeshifted Kurt, an angle of him almost unrecognizable. He looks like a different person. Then, at 11:22 and even closer, 11:37 - Dave Grohl is wAtChing Kurt, with a clear expression of a sad clown. At 15:00 - Kurt looks a lot like his daughter, Frances Bean. _Would love to see and hear all of this entire session._

They rented almost everything they played that day. Cobain joked in his bio that he didn't like the pictures because he was using such high tech equipment with the acoustic. He had a alot of embarrassment about being seen as one of those "old unplugged washed up musicians" like Eric Clapton even though he was interested and experienced with the acoustic for jamming. He said in the same bio he said wouldn't do "unplugged" on MTV cause it was pitiful looking for real. He must have changed his mind completely cause he did it. Rented his guitar that night too. An already at the time a impossibly rare Martin electric D-18E with knobs and a electric guitar pickup (that really didnt work and had a bypassed bartolini sound hole pickup doing everything) He decided to buy it after the show. This takamine may still be at the studio it was rented at.

does anyone else find it disturbing that Krist just said "We know when we fuck up" right before he left without saying anything else. Especially since Dave ran after Kurt. Not only that but Krist was "very apologetic" as if they had accidentally just messed up a song really bad. This could just be because the song they played right after leaving was extremely dark sounding even though it seems mostly improvised but idk you tell me
