I've got a Kawasaki FD501V-BS00 engine on my JD. When i try to look up parts, i find FD501V but NEVER the BS00. How important is that BS00 part? Thank you!

I think i would replace the springs as well, and adjust the lifters. Or at least check the clearance in the lifters.

Or you could save yourself a lot of banging and frustration by just placing some washers between the deck and spindle on the sides you need to raise.

Hello! Unfortunately I cannot seem to locate it either... If I had to guess I would say that it comes on the axle and that is the only way to get it. I would give your local dealer a call, I'm sure they will have more info for you.

I contacted monster directly and they say it's not a part that comes with those axles. The spacer is for a different axle but should work on these axles. I just went through the same thing. The company responded very quickly and shipped the spacer same day

@@kyleskreations1058 quick question. How are you turning the flywheel to TDC. By the pto bolt? I haven't messed with one with a radiator over the flywheel. I usually do it by hand.

An old trick is to shove some rope into the spark plug hole and turn the crank to move the piston up pushing the rope against the valves to hold them in place. Also, an adapter to connect an air hose to the cylinder keeping air pressure to hold the valves in place.

I looked in the john Deere parts catalog and it looks like the part number you are looking for is M96760. You can find them on eBay, but they are quite a bit cheaper ordering them through your local John Deere dealer ($9.95/each on eBay vs ~$3/each at a dealer).

@@lia1063 This lawn tractor engine model number was FD440V. Looking in John Deere's parts catalog, it only shows one engine option for the LX178 tractors. The valve seals for that engine are part #M96760. Here is a link to that page in the parts catalog (look for #10 on the parts list). So now, instead of the axel breaking, won't it just break the diff?
@kyleskreations1058

The idea is that the factory axle shafts are on the small side for how much power the quad has. Once they are upgraded, we're hoping that nothing at all breaks. And so far everything is holding up great!

Smart Video ,safety glasses please ! Another way ,if you have a piece of wood .say 3' long and a level , lay the level on the spindles and see which way the bubble is going . Ideally the the spindles should be level across the wood as far as the spindles go .
