@7:36 "I am well aware that I can't prove those guns came from this ship" despite our military officers witnessing you throwing them overboard. British ineptitude.

I have been looking for this movie for a while now. I remember watching it with my neighbors when we were kids and I remember the dancing girl spinning and showing her tits. My friend and I just looked at each other dumbfounded like "did that just happen?". I've looked through so many animated Gulliver's Travels just trying to find that clip just to see if I had imagined it. For anyone else who was on that same quest 1:00:31

I'm in my mid 20s and I've been on the hunt for this version for a while. I remember having a DVD with this version on when I was a kid and the other side of the disc had a titanic film if I remember correctly. Best version of the story by far.

The premise is extraordinarily silly. “We want them to give up on this project. Therefore, we don’t want them to know why they failed. But, we can’t let them know we’ve devised effective counter measures. So, sink it in its port.” Completely illogical. The logical course would be to track it, hijack it, capture it, to gain the technology. Gaining information is far easier and of more tactical advantage than attempting to destroy it with such asinine stipulations. The writers sound like they had no clue what they were writing about.

I worked as a fitter as a turner on the diamond mines in Namibia at ORANJEMUND in the mid 50's and I saw many diamonds in the sorting house where the concentrate gravel from the mine was sorted......but I never saw diamonds that big mostly they were like marbles pure white gem quality........there is no water in the Speregebiet and if you happen to be ashore from a wreck you will die from thirst in 3 days.........a diamond in the rough is only worth what it can be transformed to by cutting and polishing so the true worth of a diamond in the rough is only its potential. And as a rough stone has no real value by itself. But it is the hardest mineral known to Man.

Great film. Derring do & excitement! Super fun film of the classic action-adventure type. And just what I needed to cheer me up on an 'orribly wet Sunday afternoon! 🙂 When I saw the galleon in the desert, I suddenly had deja-vu . . . I remembered seeing Matthew McConaughey & cast find a modern warboat in the desert - & a treasure too, I seem to remember! - in a 2005 film named 'Sahara' !! 😀. . .Great to see that the newer film was perhaps inspired by this film of 40 years earlier?? They each have the same ingenious plot device, any road. 👌 Thanks for the upload! 👍

they came through a reef of narrow rocks (many) to reach the shore yet when they looked back to sea from land there was not one rock in sight... and are we to assume Honor Blackman quickly turned into a ship's engineer/navigator? her hair was beautifully coiffed throughout so anything's possible...

I always see actors who have "doubles" in the same acting field as in this case, John Hannah (The Mummy). He could have been a James Bond if he had taken the job and bumped Sean Connery out of being the beginning "Bond". I can't believe that he wad married for a short time to the still living Kim Novak. I really liked him in "The Haunting".

Saw this as a young kid on television sometime in the early to mid 80s. The only thing I remembered of it for the past 40 years is the opening and closing music. Had completely forgotten about the animation. Seeing this in 2024 has unlocked a childhood memory.
