I’ve tried them all and the best is Campagnolo Carbon pads (for Shimano) red coloured. I’ve tried Zipp Tangente, Enve G1 and G2, Swissstop Carbon, Shimano Carbon pads

Hi there! Any idea how thick the actual printed 3D mesh is, in millimeters under the sit bone areas?
@nightrider7474

Hey there, it is very hard to tell but I've always noticed that the saddle is exactly the same thickness throughout as a regular SLR Boost from Selle Italia. I am not sure if this is good or not because IMO thicker (more material) is better?

Sorry what is the brand of the bike? I can see you spare no expense on top quality components and you stick to rim brake so the bike must be super light weight. What is the total weight of the bike now?
@nightrider7474

Thanks @saltydog547 it’s a Cervelo R5 limited edition. It weighs 6.2kg without pedals. I only weigh 71kg and the braking on the Schmolke wheels is very very good. I just don’t feel like spending $20K AUD on a disc brake bike that weighs 7.3kg?

I'd like to warn you about that Ali Express mount thingy, I have the exact same one, and I dropped my Garmin device on a long ride last summer. Good thing they built very sturdy so the device is still fine. I believe because of the road vibration, the screw gets loose overtime. I suggest you to use a locktide or any type of glue on that single screw so it wouldn't get loose. Cheers, ride safe.

What is the tilt that you do in this saddle?
@nightrider7474
Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, it’s been a long long road on the tilt angle. It’s personal to you, I run slammed stem so for me 1 degree forward tilt is perfect. 1.5 too much, 0.5 too little.
@samuel8590
Ай бұрын
@@nightrider7474 So personal on the tilt. I run my Selle Italia slr Boost 130 at 2.5 Down. Everyone's anatomy is different. Bike fitters say level, or you will slip off. Not true. For whatever reason, 2.5 degrees down seems level to my anatomy. I don't slip off and no pressure on my hands. Experimentation is key.

@@samuel8590100% agree. I did try a 130mm SLR once and it was no good for me. I’m able to ride long and low on my S5 in the drops for 90min threshold sessions perfectly fine on the 145mm so I agree it’s all personal

Do you feel like this saddle causes more chafing with the sort of jagged 3d printing texture? I sometimes ride my bike without bibs and am worried it might cause more chafing than the regular version

Hi mate, Golly I can't help you there I always ride with bibshorts! If you ride with shorts without a chamois at least I dont think this is a problem (sorry but I am picturing you riding naked! haha) but I am sure you mean like in Triathlon where you are coming out of the water in swim gear?

Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to get mine. There is nowhere to be found in stock in Europe. Im changing from the s-works power the regular one. Been on it since it was launched,, but for more than 4 hours, I really struggled. I tried the mirror power; it was way too soft for me. Is the Radar mount 3d printed as well?
@nightrider7474
Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, the mount for the RTL715 itself is 3D printed from MadCAD which connects it to a regular GoPro mount. The opposite end which is the saddle mount is a cheap Aliexpress Garmin saddle mount for $7 which needed very slight modifications with a dremmel to sit where I wanted it to on the rail. Also stuck on same bar tape to cussion the mount against the rails. Good luck! Hope that the saddle works for you, I havent had any issues with it at all 3mths in

I love Selle Italia saddles but their carbon rails tend to crack when your bike falls and the saddle hit the ground. Of course they won't help with warranty claim even when a saddle is rated for "gravel use" haha but it's okay, comfy while it lasted.
@nightrider7474

On the other hand I’m not sure how many carbon rails would survive this to be honest! I suppose if any component is struck at the right angles and with the right force it wouldn’t survive? Carbon top tubes crushed on a bike maintenance stand for example

What are your thoughts on this saddle? How does it compare to Specialized mirror saddles? Impressions?
@nightrider7474
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I have been meaning to post a follow up full review video once I’ve ridden enough to form an opinion. Initial impressions are that it is completely different shape to Mirror saddle, the Mirror saddle in my opinion is much more cushy and softer overall (logically as it’s a lot thicker and more material to cushion your sit bones). Unfortunately Sworks Mirror saddle shape is not for me. The SLR needed some time to “bed in” but so far I’d have to say there is only marginal improvement to the regular foam Carbonio version. I suspect on ultra long ride >4hrs there will be a bigger difference between the two. Stay tuned!

great review, and yeah you can't find a review on these wheels. Good thing that youndid. I have the disc version TLO 45 with extralight hubs. The only concern I have so far is when setting them up tubeless. The tire got out of sit when deflated and hard to pump it back when using normal pump or Co2. I emailed schmolke about this and no answer. I want to know which tires is best to use tubeless
@nightrider7474
Жыл бұрын
This is ONE big reason i went non-tubeless. I have ran Tubeless for 5000kms last year and it is great when it works but a nightmare when it doesn't! One morning 5am, side of highway, sealant would not seal and squirting out at high pressure everywhere. Had to put in a tube in the end. After that incident I decided that it wasn't for me... Tyre choice does make a huge difference though to your situation, some tyres are easier to seat than others. My experience was only with Contintental GP5000 TL (original 28mm non S version) But I cannot comment on any others. Good luck! let me know how Schmolke respond
