Jeremy calling himself an outsider but going to Yale is just laughable. He honestly comes off as a big baby. He’s taking a very unhealthy method that will affect his mental health and it’s really telling that actors tell him this when non actors want to believe the opposite. It’s funny that people who have no acting training worship him. real actors know that this isn’t healthy at all. he’s not “misunderstood” in the slightest; that article about him was spot on.

As an autistic person...Yeah, dunno if he is neurodivergent or not, but I do know neurotypical bullies when I see them. The way Kieran Culking thinks the way HE defines acting is the ONLY way is typical of that mindset. It is an incredibly toxic and dangerous mindset.

Speaking for myself, im strongly respectful for his acting and sacrifice, but first it has an such strong impact on his mind, that im not sure if it's what acting should bring with it, and second thing, from more technical side it's that im wondering, if it's not right thing to separe the method acting and traditional acting, because the first one is about huge sacrifice wich i highly respect, but the second one is abaut to skill of showing the complicate character without breaking yourself, wich is basicly skill of being someone else not losing yourself at the same time, and i wonder if it's not what acting is really about.

I keep coming back to this video and I appreciate it more and more each time. We want people to be authentic until we suddenly think their authentic self is "too much". We want actors to be dedicated to their craft, but we hate on their method of doing it. He has done so much in inspiring young actors and it's wild to me that to this day, there's this backlash. Its all noise.

Let us be honest, he is simply too smart for Hollywood. That is why people consider him pretentious or pompous. They simply don’t understand what he is talking about. They have no idea what “dramaturgically”means, they’ve never heard of Glenn Gould, they have no idea who Chekov is, they’ve never read any of the books he mentioned in his interviews. He is not pretentious, he is simply intelligent and dedicated. Which is a shock in the modern world.

indeed, this whole wave of anti-intellectualism has been disastrous. i mean, i ain't nowhere as erudite as him, but instead of mocking him, i try to learn more from what he says. that's the way it should be -- mocking people who are just well-versed in all kinds of things is just stupid.

I understand what Brian Cox said about him fearing that Jeremy will burn himself out, but if he cares so much about his craft, what is wrong with that. What is actually wrong with that? Like if a footballer loves fucking playing football and talking about it, we never criticize him and call him pretentious. I think a lot of it also stems from the fact that people think anybody can act, that misconception, that it is just the occasional expression, dialogue delivery and voice modulation. So if you actually believe that, then anybody who takes it seriously and loves the process of it seems pretentious.
