Couple questions: Do you own your own plane, partnership, or rent? Just curious, why didn’t you fly at FL180 from the beginning? Was it the winds aloft?

We own the plane but rent it through AeroAtlanta (a wonderful flight school and club). I usually like to fly at FL120 or lower to not have to use oxygen or take advantage of more favorable winds. It’s very nice in the SR22T to have the ability to pop up to FL250 to clear weather.

I loved the video, Amazonia plane. Just hated the music instead of the sound of the engine, but it is just me. Great demonstration!
Why do most people make a KZitem video and then they play some kind of stupid song and then they try to talk over it

And the music is louder so I am watching and changing the sound level too… ridiculous insertion of silly music instead of the sound of the aeroplane…

I would sell the plane before the economy crashes. I figure I’ll pick one up for about 350k soon.

Why 40 mins sitting? Maybe just depart vfr, pick up your clearance down the road a bit. Maybe not possible but has worked for me in the past, different airspace but same idea.

Oh, the thought of taking off VFR crossed my mind multiple times (more so as the minutes ticked by). The tower contacted me every few minutes saying they were still waiting. If I opted to take off VFR, I would probably have added another 10-20 min to my flight time to get through the KDAL Class B (and, would have had to get clearance from a busy Class B controller). Anyway, 'tis what it 'tis.

Hey, love your plane! I fly the exact same plane, a 22 model, color scheme an all. I have about 300 hours in the 22T. If I could suggest, in cruise set your MP to 30.5 and your mixture to 16.7 or 77% of power. This setting will keep your CHTs in the 340 -350 range and your TITs 1580 -1590 range. You will give up a little speed but will greatly extend your cylinder and turbo life. Had someone share this with me and it works great. Great video

Agreed, those setting on a prolonged basis will burn those jugs up.
