Hey! Tall guy here (198cm) and strong (108kg). I've been thinking of buying this bike, it's beautiful and so comfortable. I have never ridden before, right now I am getting my licence (learning on a Ninja 650, since A license here is 500+cc). I am quite responsible, my speeding days with car are long gone (wasnt much speeding too), I drive carefully and without a hurry. Some people say don't buy it, its too much for a new rider. I feel like I wont get in trouble with it, since my crawing for motorcycle is not speed but cruising and enjoying, and I have been watching safe riding stuff for 2 years now. What would be your opinion?

I get it. I started on a 1990 xt350. I am also a new rider with about 2500 miles under my belt and am getting one of these bikes soon. Thanks for the video.

If you install a luggage rack you'll protect the muffler also. I slipped on the right side, broke 5 ribs, went to the hospital for 3 days but thank goodness the bike doesn't have a scratch.

I was going to get these also...but I spoke with 5 riders who all warned me against it... the engine mounted bolts sheared off!.. no warranty buy anybody convered them and 4 out of the 5 were just vibration fatigue failures..not from drops, other than one very low speed drop. One was a "total loss" he said, cracked the engine case... So scary but...the more I research, the worse the situation is so...I guess, reluctantly I'm going to wait on any upper engine guards. Great video man. thanks.

This close to pulling the trigger on the 900. I love to get rowdy in the dirt, but I also want to bike that I can go on long road trips with. I’m concerned about handle bar vibrations. Have you done any long freeway rides?

Very good review, honest comments and I must say well executed. I am also looking for a bike that do all so I am between the GT or Pro. And KTM 890 Adventure. I need to try the 3 of them back to back I guess. All the best

Great video, understand the confidence part. Having had a massive accident many years ago. But now starting to get the itch again for a bike. Been watching lots of reviews but do like the Tigers. So going to 900 I think. Think 1200 be out of my comfort zone, been a short arse.

Do the settings reset to factory every time you switch the engine off, or can they be retained when you set up the driving mode that suits you etc?

You're fun to listen to. Nice review. I love my new RP. I just wish I could remove all of the identifying decals (Triumph, Tiger, 900). I somehow feel like that makes it incognito while out touring.

The bolts behind the headlight you suggested leave one bolt in, you need to use the longer bolts supplied, otherwise good video easy to follow good camera work. Search Triumph instructions then search using the part numbers there you'll have written instructions and torque settings etc.

You mentioned something along the lines of keeping yourself in check, not riding tired, buzzed, or what have you, and I think that is a very important point to drive home to new riders out there. Sure it’s important to have all the right gear, skills, etc., not diminishing those aspects, but I’ve always felt personally, the top two things that have kept me safe and free from any hairy situations or close calls on the road is 1) fine tuning your ability and fully understanding the drivers around you, predicting scenarios before they actually happen, and 2) being up front and honest with yourself about your current mental and emotional state and having that internal barometer letting you know, “Ok, if my exhaustion level gets to this point, or if my attention span and focus ability gets down to this point (I have ADHD)…” then I just won’t ride period. If I’m in the middle of a ride, I’ll pull over and take a rest, or whatever I have to do to get back to those optimal levels I’ve established for myself.

I really appreciate this video as I will be a very novice beginner myself. I used to ride moto x bikes a lot but that was many many years ago. I’ve gotten the itch for the new travel bikes and the Tiger really grabbed my attention, it’s a fantastic looking bike and love the features. Again, thanks for the ride and great presentation.

I really love the way you "talk to the masses". You have a relaxed approach, and the right mentality conserning the way you ride. And man, the audioequipment is just great. It sounds awesome. What do you use? I don´t have anything yet, but I´m thinking about getting me something that could allow me to get really nice communication abilities and audioquality listening to music going down the road. And by the way: I bought a GT PRO last year, and road for it about 1400 miles or so. Since I live up in Sweden, I store it for winter in october. I can tell you for sure, that I can´t wait to get it out again. So, put up some more stuff on your channel Mr Lowside. I´m waiting…
