I am 35, I had retinal detachment Macular degeneration in 2021.... It was a tough time for me. I had surgery, then cataract surgery, laser etc. honestly my vision is still not 20/20 and rather it's blur in one eye. What it did is basically it made me strong, lonely, matured and wise towards life. Be strong sis.

I’m 14 years old and my doctors put me through scans and stuff and found out i have a retinal detachment on my left eye and got cataracts they also found blood behind both of my eyes, i’m getting my surgery this friday, this week i’m really honestly scared but also just confident for everything to go well. Its been tough and i cried a couple days this week, and i cried today too. I suffer with anxiety and depression which doesn’t make it easier, but i know god will take care of me and everything will be just fine. its just scary though and overwhelming and even for my parents its stressful too.

I had retinal detachment in my left eye when I was 15 and lost 70% of my vision since then. I am 24 now, working as a research assistant in one of the highest ranked universities in the world in Canada, even though nobody believed me due to my disability. Over time, my brain learned to rely on my right eye and I am enjoying my life to the fullest. I hope my right eye stays intact for the rest of my life haha 😁🫶🏻

thank you for sharing this video about your retinal surgery and your faith. i'm suffering from peripheral retinal degeneration and also a Christian too, so I completely understand how you felt. i've been in my stressed and depressed status for months, wondering about what will happen to me and what if I have a retinal detachment in the future. the symptoms I'm experiencing are getting worse, and there were so many times I almost gave up on my faith. but now I'm still praying, I'm still praying with my rosaries to God and Mother Maria every night and every morning, hoping that the doors will be opened for me. please wish me luck.

Same thing happened to me last October, I had the same emergency surgery because I had retina detachment on both eyes. I had lost 80% of the vision on my left eye and 20% on the right. I was scared and still am because I had just graduated high school, I’m only 19. I was supposed to go to Italy to play soccer but now I’ve been told it’s better not to play just to avoid another detachment. I currently have a scleral buckle in my left eye.

I recommend you to see an ophthalmologist very soon. I also started seeing eye floaters around your same age and didn't think much of them for five years, then I saw a doctor and he told me that I have retinal tear in one eye that needs to be treated or I can get retinal detachment. I wish you all the best.

Does masturbation after Vitrectomy causes another retinal.detachment?
@paulwoodford1984

I would avoid masturbation as much as possible in general. it can effect the eyes, due to the nutrients lost and the changes in eye pressure. plus avoid lifting weights.

My brother who is 15 years old now lost his vision in both eyes last three years due to coats disease/retinal detachment. As his eldest sister, it feels sad that he is not able to see anymore at this young age when he is supposed to explore new things. Miracles is the only thing that can change his condition. He still remains faithful and believe that one day God will restore his eyesight. All I wish is after many years there could be a solution to total blindness. :(

@@harshadashok296 We’re from the Philippines. Yeah, truly sad. Actually, I think the hospital is mostly at fault because, they keep on performing the same checkup routine for a year or two and kept on telling us everything is fine that my brother just need to get new eyeglass prescription until they discovered he is about to lose his vision. So, my brother ended up having surgeries a little too late.

Hello , just had surgery 13 days ago, also with silicone oil. Same as your doctor, mine said he would leave it maybe 1 year if there are no complications. I can see pretty well for having silicone oil though, still recovering . Peripheral vision is low but slowly getting better. Interested in how are you doing after a year? Do you still have oil inside ? How is your sight
