The framing hammer that I'm using everyday in my jobsite is not there. I'm using a Estwing Big Blue (Builder Series) 25 oz California framer style head straight claw, waffled face it's a big, heavy and long handle framing hammer where I can drive a 3-1/2 common framing nail in One Hit just like how Larry Haun does. Estwing Big Blue is my daily go to framing and general purpose hammer.

I Would Never pay over $100 for a hammer, the Martinez are wAy over rated along with stilleto, all you need for framing is a good wooden handle hammer and a cats paw for pulling, most your nails are going to be shot in by a nail gun anyhow.

Go with the Vaughan California Framer either 19oz or 23oz framing hammer they only cost $20 to $25 Some hardware stores selling them for only $18 They're made in USA

@@jeffshriber6120 well I got the old 27oz Vaughan California Framer and bushnell discontinued that product many years ago. I got that hammer displayed in my garage the largest and heaviest California Framer framing hammer ever made. The second largest and heaviest California Framer framing hammer I'm currently using is Estwing Builder Series Big Blue 25oz I got both in Waffled face and smooth face.

It’s a good hammer but like most everything else it’s just a statement. But good for you not wanting to spend over $100 I spent 300 on mine. The Erner brand hammer

Wich one would you say it's better Kinetic or Martinez? And they both are the same length? I'm tihnking to get one of those two
@sigtools

@@joegonzales6461 Marginal differences in length. Martinez hammer is more refined as the company holds vast amount of experience in manufacturing titanium hammers. Also titanium is proven material for vibration reduction. The Raptor is very well designed hammer too, there is no doubt about it. Kinetic Customs has done a fantastic job. If they bring out another model in the future it will be interesting match of the throne.

Can't decide between the trim or carpenter set.which one would you recommend? What's the weight differents between them?
@sigtools

It will depend on how much you carry in your daily workflow. The weight difference isn't a critical factor being nylon pouches, they are pretty close to each other.

Not much just the essentials and the set up constantly changes depending on the job on that day. Only thing is no tape holder on the trim. But not sure about the extra length on the carpenter

Remember to guide the bolt out because it's going to come apart with the head, we haven't had it stuck so far. It does take a good whack to separate the two though. Make sure to use the deadblow!
