When I was a teenager Jamie always was my favorite street skater I also liked Muska, Koston Rodney of course. But Jamie was the guy that did all these crazy gaps and rails and had this dope style so I just loved him. I’m 38 now and still skate a bit and watch lots of skateboarding and of course like many new guys but Jamie will always be in top of my favorites.

I grew up in OB/PL and went to PLHS (Class of '99)... that drop is WAY bigger in person than it looks on video. The fact Jamie walked away from that, where so many others had to be carried, and the fact the School added all sorts of gates, railings, fences and nailed down benched to obscure the landing zone is just proof how gnarly it really was. Absolute LEGEND!

this is probably to most famous non-make ever which only leads to more legends and stories. If he makes it on firs try, it's no longer talked about today I believe.

BLOODY NOSE DECK (WHITE BACKROUND) WAS THE DECK I WAS RIDING THE DAY MY BALLS DROPPED!... I WAS 12 YEARS OLD WHEN I OLLIED THIS HUGE 12 SET WITH A HAND RAIL DOWN THE CENTER OF IT AT THIS MASSIVE COLLEGE CAMPUS LOOKING MIDDLE SCHOOL IN SCRIPPS VILLAGE SAN DIEGO... HAD THE SMOOTHEST CONCRETE WITH ALL THE RUNWAY ROOM IN THE WORLD.... I STARED AT IT FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE HRS BUT WAS ONLY LIKE 20 MINS AND MY BROTHER CODY ARNOLD WAS LIKE, "DUDE ARE YOU GONNA DO IT OR NOT? LET'S GO!" THEN THESE 2 GIRLS SAT AT THIS BENCH NEXT TO THE TOP OF THE STAIR SET AND ALL I COULD THINK TO MYSELF WAS "SHIT NOW I GOTTA TRY IT"... I REMEMBER ROLLING UP TO DO IT AND I JUMPED OFF MY DECK AND DOWN THE STAIRS JUST TO GET THE FEEL OF THE FALL AND AS SOON AS MY FEET HIT THE GROUND I WAS LIKE HELL YEAH I CAN DO THIS! ...... I RAN UP THE STEPS GRABBED MY BOARD AND WENT AS FAR BACK AS I COULD GO AND SAID OUT LOUD "THOMAS!" (LIKE PEOPLE SAY KOBE WHEN SHOOTING A PAPER BALL INTO THE TRASH CAN LOL) I CLEARED THAT 12 SET BY 2 STEPS AND LANDED IT BOLTS 1ST TRY (2ND IF YOU COUNT THE JUMP DOWN) .... I NEVER FELT SO JUICED AND ALIVE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE UP UNTIL THAT MOMENT.... THAT WAS THE BIGGEST I HAD EVER GONE IN SKATEBOARDING AT THE TIME AND I FELT LIKE A CHAMP AND THAT WHOLE WEEK OR SO THAT TRIP TO SCRIPPS VILLAGE WAS ALL I COULD TALK ABOUT ... THANK YOU JAMIE THOMAS FOR UR INSPIRATION .... YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOU INFLUENCED ME THAT DAY TO DIG DEEP WITHIN MYSELF! THANK YOU! ~ SINCERELY, A HUGE FAN OF YOURS, TRAVIS PAULOS (I'M 33YRS OLD NOW AND I JUST GOT BACK INTO SKATEBOARDING AFTER 17-18YRS WITHOUT STEPPING ON A BOARD MAINLY BECAUSE I WANT TO RELIVE MY YOUTH BUT ALSO TO GET MY SONS INTO IT.... AND OFF THIS FORTNITE KICK LOL)

If his board wasn't just plywood (and if it was an aluminum, wood, and composite), the breaking would be his knee/ankle bones and/or ligaments. The physics of that are tough to overcome (flat landing from what appears to be 30 ft). Edit: or be prepared to duck deep on the landing. The dude is a legend.

Just disconnect the neutral sensor wire and ground the CPU side. Tape off the sensor wire. Saved me $29.99 + Tax & Shipping. Works just fine. Now I have nearly $40 to spend on something useful.

To this day no one has ever landed a 27 stair drop that I know of. Had jaws on the 25 he would be the only person to maybe have a chance. Can't even land this trick in Tony hawks pro skater. Epic.

Jamie Thomas was my idol when I was young. Started skating in 2nd grade. I always just wanted gaps stairs and tricks down stairs and gaps. Loved anything huge to huck myself off and just thought zero and Jamie thomas was just so cool and gnarly. I even got the zero skull tattooed on my leg lol

All these kids saying jaws could have "easily" done this like he didn't almost die on Lyon 25 which is like another 4 feet shorter than this. Not including the Ollie over the rail which will forsure put your head at almost 23 feet high.

He would've landed had he not leaned back in the last 5 feet or so - his feet shifted upwards/forward relative to his center of gravity causing him to tumble and snap his deck (1:44). Also, he extended his legs a bit too early - easier said than done since that shit is just massive. Props to the man Thomas for inspiring a generation of skaters.
