these are the games im scared of. a game that I'd actually enjoy but no one talks about it, like if resident evil wasnt popular on the internet then i probably couldnt play it, or enjoy the series as much as i do. a community just helps it so much

Never really got to really play dmc1 like that because I haven't found the time to. I played a bit of the first level and thought it was pretty good, thanks for the video so I can actually have a reference.

Since your first video string was on DMC, you should understand the value a game can bring in terms of length vs how enjoyable it is to replay. You brought up the pc mods which was a boon, but for the $40 price tag, are we talking good length for a first play through, enjoyable gameplay loop for multiple play throughs or what? I never played JSR, so I have no reference, but this does look enjoyable.

It's about an 8 hour campaign, personally I waited for it to go on sale for about $25 on steam I'm not sure if I would spend the full $40 on it to be honest

I think you should post/make what you’re interested in. Then you’ll get *your* audience and be making what you want ya know. Just my 2 cents. Making what interests other people is vague. Making what you’re interested in is specific.

It was conveyed to Dante that Nelo Angelo was Vergil in a previous fight when Angelo dropped the amulet.
@xTeloss
6 ай бұрын
The last fight with Nelo is when he drops his amulet, in the first fight, Dante's amulet falls out of his jacket and Nelo reacts to it. By that point of the game its not clear on who he is just that he has a connection to the amulet, and Dante doesn't piece together until after Nelo's defeat. And in the second fight nothing really happens at all.

DMC1 is the one game which would make the most sense to see a remake of, but also my heart wishes dmc2 would get something of a re-vamp to make it into a more enjoyable game overall. still, knowing how capcom works, they most likely would play it safe with a dmc3 remake.

Love your format, man. Subscribed! Watching through this again, it occurs to me that… I really think I prefer OG Dante in almost every way. I miss this more serious, composed, dry-humored Dante. Maybe that’s the real reason Trish left for a while, he started acting too much like DMC 3 Dante. :p

I was listening to this in the background, clicked back just in time to catch the family guy joke. You did not have to edit in the subtitles and match the game's font, but you did and I love it.

37:22 Some percieve that as Dante quipping that Mundus coming back is about as likely as Dante actually having a Kid, which kinda does feels in line with his character, if there's one thing Dante fears other than olives, it's having a normal life. The Spardas ain't the Belmonts anyway.

I know I can't be the only one thinking this but... Can you please yap some more about Devil May Cry (I.e., 3, 4, 5) or just any game that you want your sister to play. I loved listening to your trilogy of videos. Some people say that these games have been fully covered (or done to death), but I always find there's no single way to convey love/enthusiasm for the love we have of these games. And that's why I always watch new videos because I never know to what degree someone will cover the gameplay, the story, the music, the design, or any other aspect of the game's development. Can't wait for more!

fun fact: you can punish the Frosts when they jump up in the air by hitting them with a well-timed shotgun or grenade blast. this will interrupt the attack and send them down to the ground.

When I played through the DMC series a few years ago, I was really impressed by how well the original held up. It's a great mix of early hack-and-slash and classic Resident Evil, alongside the archaic yet charming design that comes with the two. I really wish more people would play it. I know it's not my place to judge, but I don't like the vast majority of gamers now who only play the newest/most popular game in a long-running series, especially when it's for content, although I understand the mentality. It's not even that the game is inaccessible, it's right alongside DMC3 in the numerous HD Collection's.

It's a shame I have friends who have played 4 and 5 but refuse to play the first one, it easily has the best atmosphere in the series (imo) and it's a shame that more people won't play it because it's very much a product of its era

I really miss this era of action games. Stuff like this, Onimusha, and Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, fast paced action with interconnected level design with a heavy atmosphere. Nowadays it feels like you either get the really intense mechanically intricate combat systems in stuff like the later DMC games (4, DmC, and 5 particularly) or Platinum's output, or stuff with more involved level design but fairly simple combat like Dark Souls or Resident Evil.
@xTeloss
6 ай бұрын
Yeah the interconnected design feels like a product from a bygone era as the series goes on it definitely feels more streamlined and straight forward, which isn't a bad thing inherently but its something i do miss

35:31 That's funny but like yeah I can't wait to see what Dante's son looks like if that ever even happens... I just wonder how it will go though once Dante has his son and he grows older etc... Will Dante's son be like Vergils or the complete opposite and evil to reclaim balance since Dante is a good guy etc. A weird thing to think about I know.

I need to finally make that video on why remaking any game in this series would be a horrible idea. Mundus Phase 1 actually takes a lot of damage once you managed to shoot his shield away. I see a lot of people making it harder on themselves sometimes by using the DT attack like the instant they get it back, even though after you do it, Mundus will immediately put his shield back up. So fighting him that way will make it so the DT attack is the only thing that will really deal damage to him, when after you break his shield you otherwise got like a whole minute to barrage him with shots. Hope your sister will enjoy playing this series. Don't forget to tell her how Nero's exceed mechanic works, since the game can't be bothered

When this game was first announced, I thought it was the coolest game ever and really wanted to play it. But sadly, I did not have a PS2. Fast-forward to... like 10 years later, and I got myself a PS2 and the DMC collection and the game was just as cool if not more as I imagined. It was also really hard, but I was able to beat it, and I always preferred Dante and the atmosphere more than the other two PS2 games. I always tried to replay the game, but I always get stuck, and I just give up after several tries. I still haven't played 4 or 5 because I want to replay the originals first (yeah, even 2). And I'm not interested in the reboot. Even if there's a good game in there. That's not my Dante.
