Anyone wanting to learn to cut auto glass needs to see this video. You give actual instruction...not just the visual. I tried it on my 1951 chevy windshield ( just like the one in your video) and got it the first time. I did watch the video a number of times before I started. Thanks for the video.

How do you finish the edges once you cut to the final shape? Do you sand the edges round?

Hi Jay, Yes, we have a 4 x 106 water cooled belt sander with a 120 grit belt that we use to true up the two layers of glass, round the corners and seam the edges . I made a video describing the do's and do nots, just need my IT department and editor ( my 16 year old son ) to upload it .

Thanks Doug. I'm working on a '70 Volksrod and will attempt cutting the windshield and side glass over the Xmas break. I'll let you know how it goes, all good hopefully, fingers crossed. Cheers. Roudy

I use a regular fletcher glass cutter with the gold tipped handle.

Hi Doug. Great video. What tool do you use to cut the glass? Should it be a certain type of cutting wheel (steel, diamond or...)? Thanks in advance.

Just amazing! You make that look so easy. I wish you guys were close to cut down my side glass pieces. All the glass shops around here seem to scared to try it.
