35CFH is a bit excessive for the size of that cup. Rule of thumb is twice the cups size. If you’re running a number 6 cup. Argon should be approx. 12cfh. This is only a type of thumb, and can be tweaked for max performance.

I never run 12cfh.. I'm not in a controlled environment. There is always wind or a fan running in my shop. 20 is the least I do to save gas.

Thanks for sharing . I have recently been considering this outfit . It bears saying that all manufacturers should consider centrifugal fans in their machines . far less noise ! I have auto noise cancelling shooters ear plugs , wise choice .

just got myself the lower model 250EX and will need to buy the water cooler for it down the road, just air cooled for now at low amps with my CK air cooled torch.

May want to speed up and edit your video a bit. Kinda drags a a bit. Lots is out of focus, and lots of what would be considered dead air on a TV station. Good information, though.

How well will it do thin aluminum? I'm considering the 350 or the 400 with a water cooler to replace my old Lincoln air cooled tig. It's a smaller pretty basic machine.

thin aluminum is no problem. These inverter machines do pulse if you need it

That looked like 1/4 in. aluminum - how is the duty cycle Will it be good for a start up shop?
@bbmfllc168
Жыл бұрын
It is ¼ tube and I think it's really good for a start up shop because you would be able to weld anything and won't out grow the machine.

I plan to out grow this welder. If not, then I'm not working hard enough ! Thanks for the feed back .

I was looking at the 325ext...Is the 400 just more amperage or does it have more features than the 325ext?
@bbmfllc168

I've only had the 350 and now this 400 so I am not familiar with the 325. The evelast website has alot of details on it and have great customer service if you call them.

The US manual can be found online. This is a new unit and the full US written manual is found online for all users in the North American Market on Everlast's website. It's much longer and correct.

Long work clamp leads cause arc starting deterioration. You should ever exceed the length of the torch, but it's better to stay no more than about 2/3 the length of the torch due to electron flow direction.

What amperage do you plan on welding at, if your gonna stay under about 220 I'd stick with 3/32 tungsten, pick up a 9 sized torch from ck world wide, and a stubby kit makes the torch really small and nimble. I had the nova torches from everlast and they developed a water leak after about 6 months

Ive learned how to read the puddle so i dont lower the amps on the machine and keep it maxed. I just control the amps using the foot pedal. Personally I've never had a 3/32 tungsten on my everlast, but thats my preference. Check out my instagram (@bbmf.us) and you can see the various metals and thickness I weld with only using ⅛" tungsten. I've only ran the nova torches on my PowerTIG350EXT. One leaked after about a year and the other one started giving me issues in 9 month's with the arc going in and out due to the power cable but they have one year replacement warranty which is unheard of. The nova torches are so affordable that for about $130 shipped to your door you cant beat getting a complete plug and play torch kit. But I know what you mean about having a small and nimble torch, sometimes I wish I had one 😁👍.
