I have long wondered why Dynamat works. I have long thought we don't need to cover the entire floor. That would make it a continuous surface. I would think the cymbal is the proper way, where you have gaps so the travel of the soundwaves are interrupted and can't propagate continuously.

The best deadener I have tried. I am always happy with the result. Standard cars are never quiet enough for me.

sort interesting that the cymbal has just a few strips but in all the applications they do full coverage.

wow thin foil and glue, they make it sound like rocket science. They have to make it sound smart because they know its not worth more that 1.50 sq ft.

In the control test with the first Mustang without Dynamat, the Driver's side Window us cracked open between 5 and 10mm. Not a completely fair test, ans you'll get additional outside noise in the cabin. You'll definitely see it at 5:58, which makes me wonder of the passenger or rear windows are also cracked open as well. I've also noticed that in the treated (red) car, the driver's side window is fully closed.
