Loved that! I’ve got a TDR250 and it flies for a 250 smoker, certainly got more grunt than I have.

Always loved the Jap 500 singles but they were all trailbikes except for the SR. Which with those mag wheels was a bit of a turd. Still they were great wheelstand bikes. I used to fit hard terrain knobbies which weren't too bad on a dry road. The fairing helps a small bike cut through the wind better. My mate had a full faired RZ250 which was great.

Even in 2022 it's a blast to see all these bigger bikes are too slow for a good pilot on a 500 single. That Norton and its pilot is a beast! 😀

To me, MRC is MorIni Riders' Club... But I see no Morinis. Back in the day (if this is the same event) the majority of bikes were Morinis, but with a smattering of other Italian and some British and Japanese stuff thrown in. I never rode a Saturno, but hankered for one. They were jolly expensive new. The closest I got was an XBR500, although that too was a lovely thing. Only snobs had issues with its origins. Cadwell (as I recall, I haven't ridden for over 27 years) was a track well suited to smaller, lighter, nippier stuff. I recall big Guzzis hauling down the "longer" straights at speed, only to be swallowed up on the brakes. If anything tempted me back onto a motorcycle, it might be one of these "nuova" Saturno thingies. Lovely!

nice race track. I had the impression that engine was not limited by rev limiter. So next time switch off rev limiter or to change from 15/43 to 15/44. just an idea. HP

It must suck when you go to all that expense etc only to have nobody to play with.. .. it's a bit like playin online pooter games and never seeing a good opponent again... I hope you 2 meet again! (when you have tweaked a couple more HP from your motor)

Nice. Not bad for 36bhp at the back wheel. My Saturno (Nortuno) with Nordwest motor and Keihin Smoothbores had 50bhp at the back. Geared for 116mph at Caldwell but would gear for 126mph. Super fun bikes eh!

It's more fun riding a slow bike fast ,than being fast on a fast bike if you get my meaning. Hunting for time during braking and pushing your corner speed is what gives a talented rider like this the edge.

It’s ok he’ll be stopping for fuel soon and then looking for a way to fill up the 2stroke reservoir. They’re mental little bikes and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with one,I had 110mph out of it on the beach and the hardest thing with them is keeping the front wheel down in lower gears.Good effort from you though with a nice fast and wide line as in road racing and you took the scalps off the rest.
