I am wondering if it is possible to get in contact with you for some help regarding the phillips hue v4 or if it is possible to make a video on "cut-end connector" for the v4 as I am struggling to figure it out when trying to incorporate it into my set up. Thanks in advance and thanks again for the video. Kind regards, Sam

@@litcessorysupport3019 yea!!! You’re v4 cut end connector to 6 pin connectors are back in stock. Just ordered 12 of them. One question though. Looks like on the older v3 version you don’t cut on the line where the scissor marks are you cut on the solder points to the left, however the newer v4 one that I have looks different. Can I cut the v4 one on the scissor line. It doesn’t look like a solder point, but has metal dots on either side of the cut line.

I think everyone is expecting there to be a way to split the one Lightstrip, expensive as it is, in order to use it in multiple places... unfortunately, there's no way to do that because it needs the "controller" box in order to work with the "SmartHome" aspect of things. otherwise, there are a few other options for LED Strips that change colors without intuitive controls.
@litcessorysupport3019
3 жыл бұрын
Hey There, There are some cost effective aftermarket options so you can use the remaining pieces of your Lightstrip. You can buy a Zigbee RGBCCT Strip Controller and a 24Vdc Power supply and it will work with the Lightstrip and Philips Hue Bridge. Both items are available for purchase on Amazon and Ebay. You can use our 6-Pin to Cut-End Connector on the Strips and a Controller to 6-Pin Adapter (Hardwired) to connect to the Zigbee Controller. Note: You will have to use a 24 AWG 6 conductor ribbon cable to connect the Controller to the 6-Pin Adapter or you can remove the plastic snap connectors of the adapter and strip the cable back enough to fit into the controller mounts. Please follow the instructions provided with the controller for more information. Please feel free to reach out with any further questions.

Quick comment - these instructions are great - EXCEPT that you only need to trim about 1/4"-1/3" of the plastic casing on either side of the solder points. You do NOT need to trim the massive amount he demonstrates. If you look when he is actually attaching the connectors, you can see he has removed much less of the plastic casing than he demonstrates earlier in the video. I did this and ended up with the plastic casing perfectly flush against the connector.
@teleplusdeluxe
3 жыл бұрын
This is 100% accurate. I trimmed the amount he did initially and it made making the connection much more loose and constantly had to manipulate the cut end to make the connection. If you trim a shorter cut of the plastic casing it fits much more snug and the solder points have less room to move once the connector is closed, making a more solid connection to the pins.

Hopefully this will be the perfect solution for my Gaming Desk setup, I'm currently using IKEA's Hallestad Countertop on top of 2 Alex Drawers from IKEA, I want to raise the counter top 4 - 5 inches using IKEA Capita Legs, after that I wanted to have part of my Phillips Hue Lightstrip which is placed at the back side of my desk connect to a Phillips Hue Extension light strip that will run underneath the countertop desk and just over the Alex Drawers (to give a cool, emanating glow for a futuristic look) and then of course I'll need to cut the 40-inch strip in half (or about half, depending on where the solder points end up) then use about 5 to 6.5 feet of Extension cord (thanks to Litcessory) to run under the desk and to the other side of the desk (opposite end) and have the last half of the Phillips Hue Extension cord light up that Alex Drawer. I will need these Cut-End Connectors as well in order to get it to connect to the Extension cord. Sounds a bit complicated but it's not really that complicated. Wish meh luck! I hope it turns out the way I imagine it, if not I'll probably simply need more Extension length cables This will be one for the books! @R/Battlestations.
