I see why, they want to cater to the non-western name so they use the phonetic alphabet

Is she, like, alright? Someone really should check if she was having a stroke. Edit: Oh, she had phonetic spellings for all the names but she clearly can't read the phonetic alphabet 😅

I think that viral video of the Elementary teacher intentionally butchering her students easy names as an ice-breaker has been the inspiration behind this mess!! If I was a grad I wouldn't think it's funny though😐😐

It was a prank by the uni. Staff..obviously!! She was able to read all the first Arabs name right, basically she initially read the first few names of each group, until she INTENTIONALLY messes up the names so bad. Even the professor who handed her the cards didn't try to correct her bc he KNEW It was a joke!!

Speaking of graduations. I'm considering opening an online counseling site. I already have several potential clients: Sai-yer Ugoon Jeenju Bree-dun (previously known as Sarah Virginia Brennan), Megi-lu Ee-abri (previously Meghan Louise Aubrey), Tah-mu-may... Thomas (Thomas Michael Canevari Jr.) Mayvee Lee Zoovech Brawtaski (Maeve Elizabeth Brotoski) Ethu-nee Batista-Santos (Stephanie Batista-Santos), Ali-suna Co-beeshop (Allison Nicole Bishop), Je-si-kuu Lyn Bower (Jessica Lynne Bauer), Ma-leena Zobeth Comp (Molly Elizabeth Camp), Mur-selling Brabazan-Car (Marissa Lynn Brabazon-Carr) Saleena I-snore (previously Salani Asinor, Caro-leena Urin-a (previously Caroline Arena), Brayin Cole Bran (Brea Nicole Brown), Victoria Lee Zubithcross (Victoria Elizabeth Bruce), Bri-geck Gabrielle Bawklley (Brigette Gabriele Bulkley), These graduates are struggling with adapting to their new names, however I am counseling them on this necessity as they will need their diplomas - with their ''names'' - in order to start their careers. Fortunately, students with Arabic, Spanish, and generally Ottoman Empire rooted names came out quite cleanly :) However, besides "Victoria" those Anglican children must suffer the privilege of having their names de-anglicized,, rather to have them "Ottomanized". This is only fair.

There are so few caucasion-American names in the schools that the speaker was completely brained-out trying to pronounce them. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. I don't qualify for any of that. Shalom.

A better lie/excuse would have been that “the first middle and last names weren’t spaced out”. Neither is a serviceable explanation for “Tomoomay”.

EVEN if she had only the phonetics it still doesn't excuse the mistakes for a SPEAKER. The whole point of phonetics makes pronunciation even easier, not more difficult. I don't understand how people are saying phonetics are difficult to read lmao like that's why they exist. NOT only that but this is a FREAKING COLLEGE. They should know better. This is straight up embarrassing
