the sound app might be hearing higher pitch sounds that are louder with the new fans vs the stock, try spectdroid for measuring sound so you can see the frequency. also good first vid, i giggled at the shirt changes XD

Android phones limit extreme noise when recording video. So as quiet as it sounds, it probably isn't. Reading your application is more accurate and shows that you aggravated the problem. The noise is in fact, more big now.

Quick question, I notice the fan for the power supply said 12v, is that correct? You didn't use some sort of voltage converter?

I recommend to change the Mainboard-cooler-wiring. It stays off if the part-cooler is off. This is way too stupid. So connect die Mainboard-Cooler to 24v directly. Find modification-schemata on the internet :O

You just changed the frequency, not the loudness, technically, but it's more silent to human ears, because we're less sensitive to the new frequency of the mods.

Stock fans can be powered from 12 to 24v. I didn't buy any particular fan and used the stock one with dc dc step down mini bucks. I've the Ender 3 V2 Neo, and now it's silent without any particular mods, simply I've used Mini 360 bucks on the stock PSU and mainboard fans that I've choosen from 12-15v till obtain low noise and still good airflow. And opened with a cupsaw the power supply cover to have more air flow. On the hot end I've used a Sunon MF40202V2-1000C-A99 DC 24V 0.68W 40x40x20mm achieved for 21 db. I don't need any other special mods, now my Ender 3 print's well and has very low noise.

My main concern is voltage- actually just wiring in general. You briefly touched on buck converters, but can't you just buy fans that're 12V's? Also, i don't know how to solder. Can I use those crimp connectors or do I suck it up and go pick up a cheap kit at harbor freight and learn?

So stock fan is at 57dB and the 'silent mod' brings it up to 60dB lol Brilliant!

Good job on the tutorial. I ordered the fans that you suggested. Surprisingly, my PSU fan is 24V, not 12V like yours. So, I'll have to do that one another day. I have an Ender 3 V2 Neo. My P/S looks exactly like your, but it's a different fan voltage.

Great video and guide! I just installed the main board and PSU fan. Then I assembled everything for testing and turned on the printer. The main board fan is louder than the original fan. I checked the stock fan and noticed that this one has 24 V and not 12 V like your printer! But my printer is also an Ender 3 v2 model. Has someone also a 24 V PSU fan? How is this possible?

A great video, just the right pace. One small comment, that music, so repetitive. Do you really need the same 6 notes after each comment? Cant turn it off because of the commentry, only option was to just give up at around 4 minutes because it was like water torture.

Any time you add a fan cover that incoming air tends to whistle. This is probably why the stock fans sound louder vs the ones you installed.

If you wanted it to be quieter you should have put 12v fans on with 12v buc converter, but great video easy to see what you were doing and hear you easily, and I like the fanduct/hotend housing 👍

Ah, your psu fan is 12v. Does your psu give out 12v?? Mine is 24v, which reduces my options a lot.i really don't want to attach a buck converter to it but I may well do if I can't find a decent 24v version.
