Replace the sensor that detects the engin is cold, because it controls how much petrol flows through automatic choke, this is the problem because it onlyhas a cranking start when your engin is cold

I done another one of these cars yesterday. The seal is damaged in the high pressure diesel pump. It's located on the right hand side of the engine as you look into the engine bay. The seal is not preventing the diesel from leaking back into the tank.

Dion Natoli spoke to local mechanic who I definitely trust and he reckons injector seals. Fuel leaking out of system probably into cylinders and the long crank is due to the fuel having to be pumped back into the system. Very costly.

Mine jumps into action in 2 seconds or less, I’d check the injector seals, if that’s not the problem then it’s your injector seats, fuel can leak into the cylinders over night or long periods of time causing the engine to splutter the fuel out so it can start

Injector seals probably. You can try to change O rings on injectors, if that doesn't works, cylinder head is problem, because Injector seats are damaged, and you have fuel leakage into cylinders over night. Because of that you have to crank until engine throws unburned diesel from cylinders to exhaust. After that, engine starts just fine. You should check oil level, because worn seals can cause mixing between oil and fuel, which can lead to engine damage.

I've just done this car yesterday. The problem was the high pressure diesel pump leaking. I removed the cover, replaced the seal. Job done. Starting first time now. The high pressure pump is on the right hand side of the engine. It's driven by the cam shaft.

@@MALUMEMALUME-mn9tg I've never had a petrol give me problems. The original video post is a common tdi issue. Putting a valve on it won't fix the issue. I experimented with an adhesive silicone and it cured the problem for a few weeks but the diesel eats away at the silicone. Sorry I can't offer you any further information on the petrol model bud
