Michael Corleone had to stay strong for his family and made tough but necessary decisions. This goes to show when your in position of power you have alot of responsibilities. One of the greatest movies ever.😊

Apolonia is a better match to him than Kay. Apolonia had a better understanding about how his type of man goes about their business while Kay was not fully supportive of what her husband does. Look at Vito and his wife though, since his wife had an understanding of their culture, she was ready to accept Vito for who he is. She knows what's going on (despite the family not telking her the business) but she did not oppose him and always supported him. She did what she can on her side to tend to the family and keep everyone as a unit. Kay wasn't understanding like these women. So her half-heartedness did not make her do what she's supposed to do as a mafia head's wife. Yes, it's understandable that she has the right to know what's going on but deep down, she does know. She's not dense and yet she still clings on to the hope of a normal family rather than accept reality and act accordingly. Apolonia knows this culture since she's already familiar of this kind of business in Sicily, she would've been great for Michael. It's sad bc Kay would've been a great wife. But to a normal husband with a normal life. She could not handle the power that comes with her husband so she struggled.

In the japanese manga created by the japanese mangaka Akira Miyashita, "Sakigake!! Otokojuku" has a scene in where the principal Edajima Heihachi states that the manliness of a man can be measured by how many people cried for him when he's gone. Its not a question of manliness for Michael Corleone but I felt that some parts of Edajima's speech fits Michael. Michael had no one to cry for him at the end

Weakness got his father(a kind hearted soul who loved his family but it got him killed) but Michael was feared, hateful, merciless and ambitious. While he died alone, he became what he wanted to be by sacrificing everything he loved. That deserves respect...

It has always amazed me that, despite Pacino being slightly shorter than the average Hollywood actor, when he's on the screen, everyone else just....fades. Even Brando. Pacino is just mesmerising in anything he does. And those eyes......

7:33.. seriously, are you taking editing liberties and trying to change the plot, "Michael" didn't just slap "Kay" out of nowhere after telling her that they will have another Baby and start again, you deliberately edited out where "Kay" has revealed that she didn't have a "miscarriage", but that she had an abortion, which compelled "Michael" to slap her out of disgust. What TF do you think you are doing, you can't just go and turn it into what you like, pretty shitty effort man, pretty shitty.

So? Everybody knows that she had an abortion. That is why he reacted that way, that is why he lost it After she told him about abortion he turned himself into a savage animal. He found Roth in a record time, payed millions to get him into country and killed him in front of IRS and FBI agents. Still, he wanted her to be at his mother's funeral. It was painful for him that she wasn't there. He never gave up on her, he never divorced her or took the ring of his finger. After he lost her he got diabetes, aged over night, stopped smoking drinking, never touched another woman for the rest of his life

@@dc6461 And.... you're what, the spokesperson for "everybody".....!? He's effectively saying that he is putting together an accurate contextual representation of the scenes content, "rewriting" and editing the scene with the assumption that "everybody" knows why he struck her defeats the purpose of making the video in the first f-cking place. "Everybody" needs you, "Everybody" is waiting with baited breath for your guidance, "Everybody", 8 billion "everybody's" are wondering why you haven't spoken up on their behalf when they really needed you....

@@nicolasrose3064 What ? It's pretty safe to assume that majority of the people who heard about godfather, let alone watched it know about abortion.
