It's honestly not as easy as it looks...least not for me idk. I've tried and ya have succeeded with a couple, out of dozens ide failed. It only works this easily if you have the money for the right materials. Cutting up an old memory foam mattress is the easiest cheapest way to go. And you have to have a good sewing machine and are experienced with sewing. Which Im not so I ended up using lots of staples & soray adhesive and glued and stapled the mattress foam to the plywood I had. That worked. Then you also need the space to do it all, which is more space than you'd think. Just spreading out the fabric to measure, took up my entire living room with the furniture I do have all shoved over to one side of the house. If you don't have the 5-10 yards of upholstery fabric laying around,(hahhaa) already, that can get very expensive, along with the batting material you need to upholster it all. Using my entire living room for even 2 days straight to do this project isnt easy. Even my decent size living room floor wasn't really enough space to do this sorta project. But when your broke and have least half these materials to use, it's definitely worth it to build yourself and can't afford to buy anything new and have a specific idea design you want.

Very talented! Great couch i have an idea make a coffee table the same height as the couch base, then put the other piece on it. Looks like it would then make a full size bed for guests. 😊

Super nice job.if I may be a little critique, height of most couches are not desirable for half the population ,most older folks ,heavier and taller people have a hard time getting up.can it be higher ,it seems great for children and healthy adults. Great style though.👍👍

Wonderful idea! Question- do you think this would work if you used a twin mattress instead of the foam for the seat?

I think to help DIY people, it would be good to know more about the foam size/price if you hadn't gotten it for free.

I know this is an old video but I have been scouring KZitem for a way to make a bed in my living room that doesn’t look like a bed. I gave up my room so my kids could have their own space but I still want a comfy bed. I can do this with a good mattress! Thank you!
