They could all sing in that family. Both the Presley's, and the Smith's. I have seen a video, where Vernon, Gladys and Elvis was singing some old gospel together in their living room, but sadly I can't find it again. And somewhere there's a video with Grandpa Jesse singing beside his car to. If you find it, please post it! ❤

I heard Vernon was a good singer, first time hearing this , he was good and no music too . I guess Elvis listened to him when he was young ,probably got him to sing too .

I wasn't quite expecting this. But it's a nice surprise. A pleasant singing voice with emotion. Perhaps there was a Presley singing gene/talent before Elvis. And that's awesome.

Elvis resembles more like his mother than his father as far as his facial features go.

I agree. Though a couple of his father's facial elements are definitely there. Not a bad thing overall.

I feel bad for Vernon. I'm not sure but I think he suffered a lot in his life despite of having money; houses; cars and so on. Imagine losing your wife and later your only son. He had a sweet and good voice. You can tell he felt in his heart what he was singing.

Vernon sang this for, cough cough, Davida (Dee his 2nd wife) however they did indeed eventually divorced. Elvis was correct about Dee though, she was to him, manipulative & she did try to be with Elvis first. He rebuked an invitation for dinner (this was in Germany) but Vernon went instead and the rest unfortunately is history. Dee at that time was still married to someone else in the Army.(soon they divorced) Later, after Elvis died, Dee 'wrote' an awful & sick book about Elvis & Gladys that publishers even rebuked to publish. Don't know what Vernon saw in Dee. I know Elvis was good to her sons, but I'm my view, I really never liked them either. Plus Ricky should have been investigated in regard to Elvis' death. They all (including some MM) like to portray Elvis as an addict (he took prescribed meds) yet these guys took illegal drugs including Ricky who accidentally (?) gave Elvis his final dose of meds! Ricky had a very bad drug problem. Elvis tried to clean these guys on illegal drugs. Kinda makes you wonder what state of mind these guys were in at that time. I remember when Elvis died and I know there is more to his death that should have been investigated. These guys imo have either intentional or unintentional harm that resulted in Elvis' death. We know he gave Elvis a 3rd dose. Elvis is not here to state his side. Everyone blames Elvis but they were the ones who gave him the doses. Was Elvis in his right state of mind or did he just take what was given him. Did he remember this is 3rd dose? We think we know the amswers but it's stuff fed to us by these guys. I believe everything was swept under the rug to try to keep the whole image of Elvis in tact but it backfired & these guys all blamed Elvis, why? Perhaps Elvis who is the victim is to blame but I believe there's more to it & these guy's hands are dirty. Ricky gave Elvis a 3rd dose that was not supposed to have happened. Why? Was Ricky coked up? was he on something else & forgot he already gave Elvis his meds? Oh yes, they blame Elvis wanted another dose. But if they were so against it all, why give it to him? Yes they feared the end of the cash flow & losing easy women on tours. As much as Elvis was the boss, the guy in control we also know he actually liked when someone spoke up to him too. Sure, at times he was human and got angry, who doesn't get angry but he craved someone's challenge. Why wouldn't anyone speak up then? The thing is, Ricky always felt guilty giving Elvis his 3rd dose of meds. Probably an unintentional accident. We will never really know as everyone is passing away. I'll never have any respect to any of these guys who look at Elvis, the victim, and point their finger at him and blame him for dying. Smdh
