I got the 12inch extended mix of this from the throw out bin of an Australian radio station I was working at full time as a teenager. Awesome song, extended mix was mad, had this jibberish being sung that was banging.

This song never left my mind until I rediscovered who sang it and what the name of it was. The song lifted me up and gives me the vibe of getting a brand new haircut. I was thinking of a high box like kid and play❤😂

I, appreciate the fact that, JJ... Put Sly on, this man is still a Living Icon & that game, recognize game... It doesn't bother me, not one bit that Sly lost his way... We all lose our way from time to time... I refuse to hold that against him, why you say??? Simple, were human & WE all fall short... Yeah so, if not for the Grace of God, there go I... I'll end this, by saying... Sly has God, given talent & that he's a Genius, everyone wanted Sly, when he was up there & it's said that, the same folk you see on the way up, you'll see on the way down(depending on how you treat them)... Sooo, when Sly was no longer the Shyt, but again Big ups too JJ, because he could relate w/ Sly & jj knew & felt Sly's pain, at least that's what I would like to believe... JJ, didn't turn his back on an Iconic figure, like my Brutha Sly, Your Luved 🖤...

Next to James, Sly is the most influential artist in my opinion of the last 60 years he influence all of the groups that came out in the 70s and I mean all of the funk groups. James is the Godfather that is undisputed but those groups looked what Sly did too.

People just don't know about the Icon Sly Stone! Sly has influenced so many bands and entertainers. If it wasn't for bad management and bad living through chemistry. It was great that Jesse put some respect to Sly's legacy.

This could have led to a real Sly Stone comeback, but most of the tracks Sly submitted to the bosses at A&M records for a solo album were deemed to be substandard. A few of the usable tracks did end up on movie soundtracks.

Jesse Johnson and Andre Cymone are the only artists who left prince and stood on their own two feet. it doesn't matter that they couldn't top him. they did their own way to carve out their own branch of the Minneapolis Sound
