As ridiculous as this scene is, it always gets me. I love that Derek and Hansel just instantly make up. It's never even questioned or anything later. They're just bros from this point on. A simple conversation and some honesty/humility can really go a long way. I fucking love this movie.

Their whole conflict is that Derek sees himself as a man who's past his prime, who's career is rotting away slowly and who sees a younger, fresher man take his place by rising far above him Hansel meanwhile sees himself as a rookie that may or may not reach long lasting success and fears that he will forever be compared by his more successful and iconic peer Their entire conflict is based on insecurity, by seeing themselves as threatened by the other. Once they talked this feeling out, there was nothing left to be in conflict about
