Brilliant, and now I wonder how many more years their story will last being on the internet.

Excellent video! May be you should knock on the door - if that were my house I would be fascinated to hear about former occupants.

It is interesting to see how people were and so special when we have a peek into their lives and indeed, despite technology how little we actually changed. I wonder what they would have thought about it being here online now?

+Bella Bee not entirely convinced they'd have liked it being public knowledge - it is rather - erm - personal in places. I've found myself blushing a bit a couple of times too. Such a priviledge to have all this stuff though.

Hi Bella Bee (it seems I don't know how to work the comments). When you use an etching press on a thin plate (this is 2/3mm) like acrylic or copper, the blankets are enough to hold everything in place and stop wrinkles while still leaving a nice plate mark. The guy who made this press for me told me to stop jumping + misregistering for woodcuts and lino you make 2 runners out of the same material that are longer than the plate and place them either side of the plate (leaving room for the border on the paper bettweent the runners and the paper). That way the roller 'mounts' the runners before hitting the leading edge of the plate and hopefull avoids the problem. This press is is very finely geared and I can actually turn the wheel with one finger it's so good! :)

Nice work. How do you find the feed presses with wynch such as these? I cut my teeth on a flat Albion printing press and worry about gears and cogs juddering and making lines on the copy.
