I think if you notch out about an inch out of the centers of the bottoms of each track piece, you'd have a smooth surface across the bottom of both lanes through the center to tape the tracks together so the tape isnt bulky and cause unevenness along the 'quarter mile' 👍

The length you need for a ¼ mile at 1/64 scale is 20 feet 7½ inches. 1320÷64=20•625 to convert 0•625 feet to inches, multiply by 12. 0•625×12=7•5

Nice. Im working on one from a Frankenstein of parts. After much searching and also getting sent wrong kits ill have a nice setup with a launcher that launches both at the same time as well as a finish that pops the loser off the track. The problem I was having was the finish flag that you are using would show the wrong winner if the race was close. Good luck!

Good idea for making it longer. I got the same set here I bought last year. Just now getting to it LOL. I see on other channels that flag at the finish line tends to go towards the side where the flag is facing because of the plastic weight mostly. Any issues with yours?
@livefastdiecast6546
3 жыл бұрын
We didn’t have issues with that in this video, however on our roof drag race track video the cars were going so fast that it wouldn’t really hit the tab properly so it didn’t fall on the correct side.

Thank you for doing the math to demonstrate the conversion. I am an 8th grade science teacher and have been teaching that concept along with the speed formula for over 20 years now. I reinforce the class work with a Hot Wheels lab using a two lane 20 foot track also. Back in 2004 Hot Wheels put out a roll of 50ft track that was only sold at Kmart. I cut that in half for the two lanes so no connectors or seams. My track set up is 3ft up off the ground at the starting gate, 10ft downhill, then 10ft flat on the ground to the finish line. Students really have fun with this speed lab and don’t realize they are learning at the same time! Thanks for showing an economical way to race. BTW, Dollar Tree now sells a two pack of 2ft track with two connectors.😊

Awesome video! I suggest hot glue gun for the finish line. They are $4-5 in Walmart Craft section. My question is: Is there a tab so that you can add a track section behind the start gate?

1st off,, Thanx,I really like this, I'm terrible at math and couldn't quite understand which format to use to make get the answers? 2nd, I once introduced betting on Diecast vehicles to a group of my friends. We tried to get out together at the same times as each driver, We'd usually agree on a number of vehicles for each person's team, and leave them in their packages until Race day? Usually around $5 (+ tax) for 5x Diecast vehicles, chosen in one 5-pack of Hot Wheels or Matchbox, with multi-packs of Maisto, Zuru, etc; OR 5x singles packs? Then pitch another $5 per team into a pot and the Winner takes all (except the other team's diecasts)!!! It allows for the fairest competition imo. Thanx for sharing.
