I'm kinda curious to see if there's going to be another video with more mods. I remember the mystcraft mod that allows the creation and exploration of new dimensions by creating special books, but it sadly stopped in 1.12. I wonder if there's a continuation or another mod similar to it?

I thought there was a mod called something like the Ether mod that had added a red portal and a blue portal with their own respective dimensions. I think it was still under development when I saw a video for it on KZitem but now I can't find anything about it, does anyone else remember hearing and or seeing anything about this mod?

every now and then i look at the dimensional doors mod again because its an interesting mix of exploring and dungeon experience with an acceptable ammount of control taken away from you. im surprised this mod would be considered forgoten while its still high on my list of mods to return to.

I refuse to play vanilla again until mojang can get their heads out of their asses and add the aether. LITERALLY all they have to do is port the code over to the source and bug fix, thats it. They have the mod in their possession as well as the person who made it under their employment, there is literally NOTHING that is preventing them from adding it other than the fact that they simply refuse to, which is an absolute disgrace because its literally THE one thing all fans want and if they can't be receptive to that, then they don't deserve to have their game played. You update your game based on what the players want, not based on what you as the developer wants. I know thats a mighty big pill to swallow for them but if they don't like it, theres the door, they can exit the dev scene whenever they want, not like they already havent but still. Modded or nothing. These modders make all the work mojang has ever done look like nothing and it's not a very hard task seeing as how mojang seems to think 5 minutes of work should take about a year.

I still use a bunch of these lol (I use 1.16.5 because I have Nvidia which is incapable of 1.7.10) but uh. Not related really but RLCraft isn't scary to me except the one mob "pong-kong" idk it's those eyes.. and they make human like noises. I also suggest trying out Pau101's wings mod with aether. It is SO much fun.

Speaking outside "dimension" part and going more about really well aged mods - Industrial Craft is probably one of the most underrated mods out there, but yet its one among record-breaking ones: - one of the oldest mods to pre-date official releases, which exists since beta 1.3 - one of the most faithful to the original game mod - half of its machine blocks even uses alpha's iron block texture for their base - IC2 is a staple of Copper, Uranium & Tin materials, and mod handled them before they even existed as an element in Education Edition, let alone Java's 1.17. - one of the biggest in addons: GregTech, Advanced Solar Panels, Compact Windmills/Solars, Advanced Machines, Portable rechargers - you name it, though some of them only lasted up until around release 1.6 as Experimental IC2 pretty much has alot of them packed in itself. - the very first mod that made and nailed its own energy unit form, which is... Well, literally *Eu*, straight & simple! Im probably one of very few biggest bastards to respect IC2's origins here, but like come on, this mod is not an overcomplicated mess nor a boring pile of sadness - it hits juuuuuust right where it needs to.

I haven't forgotten. It's just hard to fit them in to my modlist. Alternate dimension mods demand a lot of attention for themselves and are only ever balanced around base Minecraft and themselves. So the interaction between them and other mods often causes unintended exploits, any gear they add never plays well with other mods, and the labor required to interact hogs great deals of attention. Even dimension doors. Because it generates dungeons in the overworld, it takes up structure spawn rolls that I might prefer other mods use. Plus, the dungeons are really in depth, rather spiteful, and don't really have worthwhile rewards because dimension doors only adds what is needed for the mod.

I remember watching modpack playthroughs of Minecraf way back when, and everyone being confused about what the Dimensional doors do. I never even knew the mod's name until now. The aesthetic of the actual "portals" is so unique that I still remember them.

Dimensional doors messed me up as a kid. The sheer terror of looking up and seeing that eye burnt that red mark into my retinas. It felt like all my sins of playing and toying with a mod, cheating in items I didn't understand, and believing that every mod was for my enjoyment, was on display for a merciless god put fear in my heart the only thing I could do to gain back some control was to quit the game. I waited still shivering not knowing what happened, though I knew it was because I fell in the void it happened so quick it took time to process. I hatched a plan to cheat in a nether portal and use it to leave that cursed plains and I did with trembling hands. I escaped to hell and it felt more comfortable and welcoming then wherever I fell to. I returned to my base and sighed in relief it was over, but only for now. Some time later I returned to that portal but instead seeing a large rift, larger than a block, consuming the terrain around it. I might have escaped that god's plaine but it was now trying to pull me back in, to destroy me. I took what I could from that base and left far, far away with my tail between my legs. I built a new base then turned off the cheat mod returning to that archaic version of minecraft where I could only craft what I knew and understood. I may have escaped that nightmare but I took that rift with me, eating away in the back of my mind while what sat at the edge of the fog laid a glowing portal to a hell beyond what I could understand.

I love dimension doors. IMo it make for a great horror mod, one of the best. It is for the most part a utility mod but the subtle hints of lore and the creepiness of limbo and those red eyes just makes you feel like you’re not meant to be there. Like a beautiful “wrongness” about it all.

As I stumbled upon this video criticizing Minecraft, I didn't anticipate the emotional rollercoaster it would put me through. You see, Minecraft isn't just a game; it's a world where I've poured countless hours, forged friendships, and explored my creativity. But as the video dissected its flaws, it felt like an attack on my sanctuary. Suddenly, doubts crept in, questioning the value of my time spent in this virtual realm. It's like unraveling a cherished memory, leaving me adrift in uncertainty. This critique wasn't just about a game; it shook the foundation of my identity, leaving me questioning who I am without Minecraft.
