Be not fooled, the M1A is a bad ass kicking rifle. Built ahead of its time.

Hey Smart Guy, I have same same, K4 weaver scope, I think what you said, but I have slam fires, 2 out of every 10, I got a trigger job and glass bedding, I sent it back to Springfield for the work, so it has been done right, but the damn slam fires, I close the gas port and shoot it like a single shot. So what do you think...............See yea, you got your head on straight

Good video on the process. My only issue is your statement that a 158gr bullet is not optimum for 38 Special. A 158gr cast or jacketed is the standard weight for a projectile in 38 Special and has been for over 100 years and it works great especially with modern powders like CFE Pistol (over 1000fps with 158's) and the old standby Unique for example. I do prefer 125-140gr cast bullets but a cast 158gr SWC is "The Standard" load for 38's, even the FBI used it back in the day.

Don't you think that the SRO on top is gonna be the vulnerable weak point of a robust mp5/sp5 configuration? It's probably a lot easier and better to have something like T2 or MRO.......

Its a great rifle. I have an 18". I have struggled with the optics tho. The fwd mount is cool for good woodstocked cheek weild, but gets to hot. The gen 4 springfield mount is solid, attaches at same points as sadlak. Can see irons under it. But all are too heavy. I am really considering the Hopco mount and a mini reflex sight to get back to stock cheek wield and chamber access. I mean the gun shoots great to 300yds with irons, the reflex should be as adequate and lighter than any scope Ive tried.

I went with an ultimak rail. Got it on sale for $180.00. I believe it's the lowest sitting forward mount an m1a can achieve. No cheek riser need and you can co witness.

It’s new not broken in yet. Unfold/fold the stock with intent. You won’t break it. Geisselle is (guy-ze-lee). I use tango down mags plus gi metal no worries. Congrats on the purchase! I enjoy your taste in glass, wml, and accessories. Always questionable when people buy $200+/- optics for this platform. Good review brother!

Good video boss. Excellent M1A model choice too! The Scout's the best model, IMO. Btw, I truly do love all the people who say that it's outdated garbage and just a crap rifle! 🤣 Buddy of mine (an AR guy) gave me alot of crap when I got my Scout. He now owns two after my Scout is just as accurate, shoots further, just as reliableafter the hell storm we've abused our rifles through and mine's still goin like new after 14+k rounds no oil, no cleaning; whereas his AR started havin issues round 8k rounds! 🤣 I love the haters man. "I've heard a lot of bad things about it." From who?? The rifle is solid. The cartridge used is very good. The only problems I've heard are people having issues with Springfield and its politics. The gun is great. It's considered one of the most accurate long arms and is mentioned in the same breath as the M1 Garand. I have a SOCOM 16 from Springfield and I love it. No problems with the rifle whatsoever. I'd love to either get the Scout version like what you have, or get the full length M1A1 with a match grade barrel and possibly national sights and trigger.
