Thanks for the tip- I think the gas can design is terrible though. I inherited two very new of these and couldn’t bring myself to throw them away. I noticed right away the handle is up too high making it hard to lift to the mower gas fill. I like the kind of gas can with a handle on the side opposite of the spout making it way more ergonomic than the scepter. Like one other viewer, I also converted a gas can to the old style with an air vent in the top back and a normal free flowing spout. Got it off Amazon- works great but be careful- the gas flows FAST! 😅

I use a battery operated pump to pull the gas out. Safer and I don't use the stupid spout. Also removed that stupid filter thing. Thank you sir for this video.

What an idiotic design. I just bought one and went to fill it up and ran into the same problem but couldn't fix it there. So here I am at home on KZitem watching yours to make sure I can get it removed properly. Really, if you can fill it you can't dispense it. The government sticking their ignorant noses into every bodies business creating problems we have to solve. Thanks for showing the easy solution. I will never purchase another of these.

Thank you! I don't have the strength to hold a full can while pouring it into my generator anymore. I'm not even going to start with that awful safety squeeze trigger. I bought a fuel transfer pump but could not use it because of this insert! Now I can refill my generator with ease!

I went through this just this past weekend with the exact same valve stem. I removed the old one and was surprised there was no seat and even bought the tool in preparation. The new version of this valve stem comes with what's called a "bonnet" but otherwise the same.

Junk. Typical government agency making problems where there isn't one. Makes handling gas more dangerous. I've thrown it away and replace with old time nozzle.

In an attempt to make them safer, the cans actually spill more gas and are a pain to use. I bought a pump for mine, so that device must be removed. Thanks for the tip.

Best hack ever! I bought an electric pump so I would not have to lift these full cans to fill the zero turn or generator. I wanted to cry when I saw that sleeve down in there. Of course, I tried pulling it straight out with needle nose. You saved me so much time and frustration, Thank you Thank you Thank you (had them out in under a minute after watching this)

They sell these at Wally-World, I cut that green spout lock ring off the can, removed that sleeve, the hose & clamp on the inside of the spout so that the can is able to be completely drained, drilled a 11/64 hole at the top of the handle and installed a small plug that I had in a junk drawer to have a full time vent to avoid fume pressure build up. For those out there that don't DIY with what you have laying around the house - The Government with their stupid safety ideas actually have created dangerous situations for others while keeping a lot of companies in business who sell easy replacement spouts and vent kits to purchase and install them and have a normal type of vintage gas can again!

Thank you, just purchased and yeaaa hated filling but love the dispensing design. I just saw the company video saying to NEVER remove this but since I had equal amount of fuel on the ground and in the can, I’ll take my chances with removing it! Thanks

What is the point of that filter? Anything it traps sits at the bottom until it is poured out.

Soooo true. I think it’s more of an explosion proof device, to reduce static build up. If you can’t put gas’s in the can, there won’t be any static 😂

I haven't made it to this part yet. I've spent about a year with mine trying to figure out how to open the damned thing. Finally, I just took the spout off and used a funnel to fill my lawn mower. The reason it'll never blow up is because no one can get gas in or out of it. You know it's a poor design when there's a lot of videos about how to open it, etc. Thanks for the video. Oh, P.S.: This company has actually disabled comments on their video...hmm.

Thanks - I just bought some new gas cans - knowing I'd be adding a vent spout and replacing the nozzle with something functional when they arrived. I'd never seen the screen assembly in one before though, and it was in all of the new ones. I had a feeling it would cause more problems than it solved - glad I checked it out first and now know what to do about it.

This Danco 9h-8h/c stem replacement for Price Pfister's non-seat type Manifold was intentional designed to milk your wallet. Warning: the cheap plastic design you see through the sides of the stem continuously will break in such a quick period in 4-5 months especially the hot valve. The cheap plastic design does 2 things, turns the 2nd plastic by its 2 notches to fill water into the manifold and adds pressure to the thick black seat washer through both 2nd & 3rd white washers. The money maker for them is the cheaply made plastic that acts like a spring and the turn key for the 2 washers before the thick O-ring seat. That piece should be bronze or brass but this is the businesses theory, make it disposable so the profits keeps rolling in. Plan to get rid of it.

Mine seems to be stuck in half-assed mode and cannot be poured out of. Don't get me started on filling it at the gas station either. *&&U^$%#@!!
