Dude - Gaffer's tape for any wires outside and inside the cage. Works so well with no residue if you remove it. I use it for temperature probe inside a cage, the small DC cable for the LED strip, and for the heater power cord outside the cage. Far better than screws or glue because you can remove it and replace it anytime with no cage damage. So far, after a year, I have not had to remove any of it except when I re-positioned the LED strip. Also, Amazon has super thin, super light USB-powered light strips. A little double-stick tape and done. And no 120VAC inside the cage for the light. One of my small cages I use a sewing machine LED strip, about 8 inches long. USB powered. Way to go. No screw mounts needed, all removable if/when needed with no damage to the cage.

I got both my beautiful girls from Jordin and she is a wonderfully passionate breeder that just isn’t seen much in a lot of hobbies. My Yeti and toffeeconda girls are both beautiful examples of their respective morphs. I can’t recommend her enough for all things hognose.

Great video bro, my only complaint is that I honestly wish there would be less ball pythons and more of other snakes. The ball python market is way way way saturated. These breeders would have to pay me to own that snake, not the other way around.

They are great looking cages any fumes from them ? I got few animal plastic cages and they had a smell coming from them fir about week so I waited to put anything in them but they have been the only pvc cage company i had this issue with so pvc cages kinda bother me now but apex looks very high quality and great I thinking of getting some today
@6strings735

Almost any plastic (save HDPE) will have some off-gas odor for a while after it has been cut. And new PVC board from the factory will smell more than PVC board that has been laying around a while. For the first week, before you put in an animal, you can layer the floor with sheets of packing paper and put in a large water bowl - that helps absorb the odor. Then discard it. The paper and water, not the cage.

I wonder if reptile product manufacturers will ever price their stuff so that average pet owners won't just walk into a Petco and buy a "dollar day" 10-20 gallon aquarium for their reptiles? Those of us who are obsessed with our animals are willing to spend what we have to but that's not even close to the majority of people who keep reptiles. This is a great concept and it definitely gets us closer to the mark but the masses aren't going to spend $260 for a 2x2x2 enclosure so that they can spend another $260 in a year or two to expand it. They're certainly not going to spend $575 up front, on a 4x2x2 and a divider, either. Until it's affordable to house them properly, things like Ball Pythons will continue to show up on Craigslist underweight with stuck shed, from being kept in fish tanks with half-round log "hides." The hobby needs _affordable_ plastic boxes for reptiles.

I totally agree with you but you get what you pay for pvc isn't cheap anymore and these are some amazing enclosures and I think it's such a great concept and the fact you can add on it's just amazing however I agree somebody needs to make affordable caging and I have Saud this a hundred times they need to used corrugated plastic sheets it comes in different thickness and a ton of colors and it's food grade it's amazing plastic but to hold up with a huge snake or a huge lizard it would have to be pretty thick mm , but it is way way cheaper then pvc or HDPE . Leap habitats is corrugated plastic they plan to make bigger cages later but there cages are not real thick corrugated plastic so really good for smaller species and geckos , anoles , chameleons stuff like that but they are nice but yes I agree with you someone's needs to make cages more affordable and in my opinion corrugated plastic would be pretty darn cheap to do it
@TheCharleseye
Жыл бұрын
@@bernardwillman8043 Corrugated plastic works fine for heavier snakes, if it's reinforced properly with an aluminum frame. Furthermore, if they're marketed specifically for use with three dimensional backgrounds (foam, spray foam, etc,) that adds a lot of rigidity to the walls of the enclosure while providing enrichment.

The budget-friendly cage is the plastic storage tub. At least for young or not large snakes. About the price of a 10 gal tank, and way better for most snakes for sure.

@rulersoftheforest

In between the modules, it's a little over an inch which was perfect for the amount of substrate I use (can't see it at all in them), but might be a bit tall for anyone using newspaper for substrate. For the enclosure window it's a bit under 4".

@@rulersoftheforest they don’t need much heat correct? I have a Mexican red tail (Guerrero ) coming from BPR. Deciding if I want to go tub or just a 4x2x1 pvc to start. I have a 28w RHP and curiou if that would be enough with uvb
@rulersoftheforest
Жыл бұрын
@@EastWestHealing they are sensitive to too much heat so if your room temps stay between 76-80 they don’t need any extra heating, but the RHP would be perfect for them to have a basking spot in the 4ft. If you have a Mexican red tail coming from Blackpearl I’m guessing it’ll be a baby so you’d definitely want to keep it in something smaller at first, but that’s a perfect size enclosure for it once it’s 2-3ft in length. You’ll want to bump that to 6ft+ after a few years when it outgrows the 4ft. The 2 in this video are moving up to sweater boxes where they’ll be fine for another 3-5 months until they’re ready for their 3x2x2.
