Very cool. Looking for all the different ways to setup live looping in Ableton. This is an interesting approach. I saw elsewhere that another approach to setup multiple loopers is drop each onto there on return tracks. So say for a 4-channel looper, you would have 4 return tracks with a looper in each. Then send instruments and audio tracks at whatever level you want to whatever looper you want.

The only chanel that put out that the looper just dont work ...it almoust do it ....but no it is delayed and the driver error compensation could fix it ( is to force chanel monitoring "in " to work as "off "setup) but it only has control over the audio clips not the looper the start Point for recording stay delayed 😢

thanks stoked to check this out, and have been exploring htis myself which much less patience. OBL is good too (One button looper ) except the main challenge is having non tempo sync looped. Looper can do it well but just so much to wrap my head around and how to record it all at once :)

Hats off to this fresh approach! I'd been combining clips and Looper devices as well, but will definitely look into incorporating this technique. The only thing that surprises me is how little views this video got. Pure gold; keep up the good work!!!

Hey, thanks for this. I made something similar for Logic about 9 years ago using stock Delay plugins set to max 10 seconds; now I'm firmly an Ableton guy. One question: what's the Macro knob for? Or rather, how are you using it?

Hey, thanks for showing/explaining this. I m wondering if you found a way to copy some of the RC505 effects, too? Because for me it seems impossible to achieve "Boss RC 505 functionality" concerning the "Guitar to bass", "Octaver" and "Transpose" effects!! First, i m not even sure which plugin to use - secondly, plugins like the Max4Life pitch shifter add MASSIVE latency to the vocals... which absolutely ruins the timing, and therefore the 'functionality'.

@@musicmoonshine hello thanks for the hint, i might try it, but i actually gave up on adding effects pre-recording via VST in Ableton. Instead i use Roland VT-4 now, which has awesome sounding pitch effects. Only after recording i then add all kinds of effects , e.g. WAVES Ovox. Also, instead of the looper-plugin i use normal Clip-Recording, because i prefer having the nice overview it gives - and with a m4l plugin called clip-length-recorder it's possible to pre-determine the recorded clip length in advance (it's also possible with launchpad pro/push2 ofc, but i dont use those). Only for Overdub i have to use the Looperplugin. Really Hope Ableton gets updated for Audio-Overdub someday. What a basic function, my god. NIce live-session on your channel btw

Hey man. Thank you for this! Has anyone found a way to see all of the loopers at once? I'm new to Ableton but I'm pretty good with coding/technology so if there IS a way to do this - I'm absolutely going to figure it out! Just need to know where to start... haha.

i dont know if you found a solution, but you should check Max Live. You can do a lot of things with this :) it's a feature in Ableton Live. I think you have to pay for it !! If you achieve to do something with it let me know :)

looking for the same thing....didnt find...what i do is i map to each looper a midi that "shows" the looper - and i map it to the same button i use for record - so that way - whenever i click a button (on my nectar pacer) to record looper A - it will show looper A - then i swtich to B -it will show looper B etc

I tend to add a "Limiter" device at the end of the chain as a rule, unless I have a good excuse not to. Indeed, when stacking vocals, it can get a bit much if you don't cap the output.

@@jaytee213 Probably that's too late, and not sure if I guessed the issue correctly - but maybe switching that "input-output" to "never" can help?

If your only goal is to switch the time signature, you can just rename the play button of each scene for instance 70 BPM. Then the whole scene will change tempo to 70 BPM.

Amazing, Bro!!! Been fiddling with versions of this for years. I'm also using Launchpad Pro mk3. Is there a Components template that's sharable? Or a video that shows your LP workflow? Thanks again /|\

Hey mate! Thanks, glad you are enjoying it! My components custom set up is really simple: you could make it in five minutes. I have all the buttons for each looper in a vertical column, then I replicate that column from left to right four times (with a blank column in between, to stop my fat fingers from pressing two buttons by accident). The in each column (looper) are midi mapped in this order 1. Record/overdub, I also assign this button the looper device itself (in midi mapping mode, click where it says "looper" on the device itself. This means that when you hit the record button, the view will snap to this specific looper, allowing you to see the visual info on it. 2. Undo Blank 3.clear Blank 4. Stop Blank 5. Device on/off (assign the looper device on off in the effect rack, it's the orange button) All the buttons are CC's set to momentary, except for the mute button which I set to toggle and a different colour :)

@@slimmestcharlest Just dove into this! I discovered that device on/off will stop the loop, so I added a Utility to each Looper and mapped the mute button from there instead. The blank columns are also handy to use as vertical faders for volume control... With the remaining 3 buttons used as send effects... Freaking love the LP Pro mk3! Feels like I'm finally getting my live rig dialed in!

I believe this workflow can hugely profit from some M4L magic... like a small interface that unifies the loopers' buttons, and has a button to to the following for each looper in one click: 1. copy clip to dedicated looper track and hit play on it 2. wait for next bar 3. clear looper

I would love this too! I have no idea how to use M4L sadly... The other I would put on my wish list is being able to see the display of all the loopers at the same time, as that visual loop information is very very useful!
