It was good to see the DPN cosies were doing their job and you didn't lose your stitches when you went to try your cardi on! ..and what a lovely cardigan it is too. The yarn is beautiful. Thank you Helen for another beautiful view of your world. I am a candle addict too! But I don’t like lighting them, yes I’m weird 🤭. If anyone reads this, purchase some Jacob it is glorious, such a joy to knit with, personally I think grippy/ rustic. Blooms beautifully and bouncy. Did you say 4 ply! How did I miss that! I tell you, the glorious surrounding countryside you live in how could the sheep not produce beautiful fleeces. Off to look at 4ply and Alex’s candles 🫣☺️

Enjoyed your video. Love your crochet top. Can i ask what colour the wild carrot gives and the purple loosestrife? I have both and am enjoying natural dye process with different plants. Your dye garden looks great - mine needs a major weeding!!!!

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Wild Carrot makes a lovely pale green whilst Purple Loosestrife makes tan and greens. I have taken out the loosestrife however, as, although not classed as invasive in the UK, it can take over the garden somewhat, which I do not want. I have planted Hedge & Lady’s Bedstraw in its place.

Love your videos,just found you by chance on you tube .So interested in your dye garden .I used to hand plant dye on a very small scale and watching this video majes me want to return to plant dyeing .Can you recommend any plant dye books please or maybe sell a list printed of plants used and colours from each plant .Love the yarns in your shop too .Could the tops ,vests you knit and crochet be made using 4ply single strands instead held double to save on costs ? Xx

@@sylviahopwood9730 glad to hear you liked the podcast. There’s a lot of good books out there on plant dyeing, experimentation is always a good place to start too. The garments featured all just happened to be of a gauge that required either 4ply held double or a DK weight yarn…the amount of yarn needed is just the same though due to the meterage of each. I’ll be featuring garments that are just single strand in upcoming episodes (Dead Easy Sweater in episode 1 uses just 1 x skein of 4ply Shetland as an example) Hope that helps, many thanks ☺️

What a joy to find you ! Such interesting content, and for someone with hearing problems, perfectly audible ! I love knitting and gardening so this is the perfect combination.. I know nothing about dyeing wool, but would love to know what colour the Lady's Bed straw produces as it is rampant in my tiny Swansea garden !

I watched the second podcast before this one! I'm a monogamous knitter as I have so little storage space for WIPs and I tend to knit when I want something to wear or to give as a gift. I'm looking forward to seeing the dyer's garden develop. It'll be beautiful!

Greetings from North Wales! No complaints here about the weather because it just makes for an extended woolly jumper season. Your Fleur is perfect as a slipover. Crochet is on my “to learn” list.
