Jane became a born again Christian as Jesus Himself told Nicodemus ''You must be born again to enter heaven''. She had repented of her sins and used to have bible studies, She was beautiful in ''His Kind of Woman'' 1951 and Macao'' 1952 with her old friend Robert Mitchum. They never had an affair but while on his death bed, his wife call Jane, who btw was their neighbor. He wanted to talk to her [before he died]. Jane went to see him, I believe it was about salvation.

Jane is from Minnesota , plain speaking, direct.far too mature for Joan who finds her humor talking about all the crass things in life. Jane recognized Joan who was blind to what fame was doing to her life. Janes Song to Edgar was prophetic wasn’t it. BUDDY BEWARE was pretty deep looking at it now. Poor Edgar, who could match Joan’s drive. Joan chased success as if it were the only thing in life and love is the most important. That’s why we are here, to learn all the facets of what love is and what it means. I pray for all of us.

I like that she doesn't let Joan Rivers intimidate her or annoy her. Jane Russell has great insight into herself.

She has quite the snooty attitude for someone who was only known for her cleavage. Russell was a trollop, so were many of the women from old Hollywood. The bar must be really low if people believe this is what classy is.

Wow this was horrible! Jane seemed either irritated or uncomfortable AND Joan didnt seem to understand where Jane's borders were as she kept pushing where Jane clearly didnt wanna go. Painful to watch.

First of all let me thank You for showing this unique movie. Right from the start, from the music that introduces it, I'm trappoed sweetly into the story. And I remain glued till the end. Scenery, cast, dialogues, the homes, California back in the end of the 50s, they never cease to fascinate me. Would it surprise you that I' ve been watching it once a month ever since I bought it twenty years ago? Best viewing, too!! 🌹

A friend told me about Ms. Russell's performance after Stritch today so I came home to see if there was a recording and, lo and behold! Thank you, LC! She's quite good as I had imagined when he told me.
