You are right, well - I did not find any issues with the plug-in but it is true that it seems what it seems. I know Erica Synths has been super busy with their 'real' stuff but I hope their plug-in line becomes actually full-fledged, as they clearly have it in them to do it. I wanted to cover more Erica Synths hardware in free KZitem videos but things have not worked out in terms of their demo units coming my way. Maybe if we all write them, they'll recognize the need and :-) I'll be able to cover their whole product lines in a dedicated master class section, I'd love to and I can certainly make them work for the music I write! Fingers crossed!

He barely ever turned the plugins on and off so we could hear what they were doing, he talked wasaayy too much and the bubbly synth sounds he chose were a terrible choice to hear what was happening sonically. Hello Locotek, yes I am still using GoldClip (and OrangeClip, actually). It's in my scoring template and I have printed a lot of cues already, with it, and it will keep going until Q4 this year, as I have a huge soundtrack project I am writing music on. On top of that I got another gig for a horror video game soundtrack and I created a sort of spin-off template out of my usual scoring template, and this one also includes GoldClip. When this horror soundtrack and its cues will be done (hopefully Summer this year) I'll talk about how I made the sounds I made and show the templates (and GoldClip/OrangeClip) settings. I cannot do it just now, I'll have to wait for the game release. I use GoldClip on the mix bus, and OrangeClip on single tracks, when needed. Both work great. From the list you have mentioned, I do use Saturate a lot, and Elevate too, and the whole Newfangled Audio bundle, I have printed actually a lot of small cues with Saturate after GoldClip, on my mix bus, and those are just my two processors, there. Thanks for watching and staying with me!

Hello! I am currently defining the terms for the edu/academic discounts at MixWave, it will be defined hopefully very soon. @@urbanman1516 You are most welcome. It is a bit of a gamble because sometimes EDU discounts are better than sales, other times they are worse, other times they are better than some of the sales but not the major ones (e.g. on release, Black Friday etc.) - as a general rule (but there are many exceptions) EDU discounts do not stack on existing sales or bundle offers. But this is defined on a per-Vendor basis, so I cannot confirm that this will be the case, or not! I am sorry that I cannot be more precise on the details, as of this very moment, for MixWave plug-ins!

Very interesting video, Alberto. Like @BrianRichyVoiceActor, I am also a voice actor. The amount of work for a year now, has dropped considerably. The worrying thing is not that clients who initially would not pay me (because they need cheap content) are not going to hire me. They wouldn't have done it any other way, with or without AI. The worrying thing is that I have clients (who make millions) who have openly told me that "there is pressure from above to cut costs using AI". And what they don't realize is that once you get into this spiral, you don't get out... today we cut costs in, let's say, creative processes of the company. And tomorrow? Why don't we replace social media managers with AI? And the accounting people? And the human resources department? And what about the people who sell me devices? Avid? Focusrite? Neumann? Why do we need them then? And their companies? Anyway, on the "shiny" side of things, it remains to be seen what stays of IA and what doesn't. I think there is a huge financial bubble concerning IA, and it won't be long before it bursts.

I work at IT and since the last years a lot of things has been changed a lot. For example to be able to work from home. I really like that option but to be honest, when possible, I work rather more at the office than from home. Why? Because of real human interaction. It's great that we have Teams and so but nothing beats the real deal. The same goes for meeting people, I am not doing endless conversations via Whatsapp, I use Whatsapp as a tool to make an appointment with my friends to meet them in person. I think, we as people, need to be clear about what we value and which price we want to pay for it. I still invest in meeting up friends and I always will do.

I agree with you that it's about leveling down on soulless garbage. Lower quality can be packaged and sold by lowering the education of newer generations. If you've never seen the color red, I can sell you a picture with one less color and get away with it. As I said, it will be a game of low-downs, and we'll have to fight through it. Yep the classic "I wanted AI to do my dishes so I could have more time to make Art. Not have the AI make my art so I can do dishes". It's not just artists. If some serious regulation is not placed on AI, it will literally self destruct our economy. AI is poised to completely decimate the white collar job market across industries and professions. This will reverberate through the economy. "I'm safe I'm in the trades". Who is going to pay you? Who will have work for you? When your traditional source of clients have all lost their jobs? People thought "work from home" was scary for the commercial real estate market, but at least they could fear monger " people don't work at home! get them back in the office!" What about when companies can now cut 75% of their staff and maintain the same productivity? Tax income to the state and government will be reduced, burdens on the state will increase. Then eventually we will come full circle the very companies that used AI to replace their workers now have no customers to buy their products and services. The only solution I potentially see is for "robots" to literally replace most of the work force, the government taxes the living hell out of corporations and most people are on UBI.

As I've written elsewhere: it is this scary simple and for that reason, exposing things this way might get you flagged for sensationalism. I agree with you, and people oftentimes just look the other way because they are busy living their own, understandably problematic, lives. But turning the TV on and maybe elect someone who's supposed to fix things while you are enjoying your BBQ has never actually worked in favor of enjoying any BBQ, for that matter. It will backfire, because of short-sighted perspective or "jump first so you can speculate at least for one week" and, low education. We'll be here reminding people where the real equation is.

So....the question is...Do you still have sympathy for the devil?? Many people liked working with ChatGPT and now the first to fall are those in music because of generative a.i. This is but the beginning many people will find themselfs out of work and in need to gain income through means they have not ever considered, some need to sell off their hardware i presume. Like the industrial revolution, where people had to join unions for better work conditions and rules and a 8 HOUR work day, NOW people are just laidoff....no more hassle with those pesky people who get sick or are out of ideas.. Which brings me to the last thing i wanna say... In music creativity has dissapeared, music of today is so bad that you won't even hear the difference between a.i and human music anymore. There is no message and no rich harmonical chordal progression anymore. The yought just don't wanna hear this because they have been fed simple music. Asking a.i. in chatgpt for instance it will claim that music is technocally more advanced which may be so for the mixing process, BUT not creatively wise many analog mixer will share their stories and say todays mixers are the preset generation. Well. i wish you luck! make it your lifes work to speak OUT against a.i.
@arizzoschettino

Hi Ron, yes, you made some very interesting points and I agree. Maybe one of the most important aspects is how, with lower education, people are basically unable to digest and enjoy more complex levels of art, or even entertainment. This makes it possible for "some kind of looped elevator music" to become an unpaid, unlicensed soundtrack for one of the next movies. Second of all, let's not forget this is a huge Wizard of Oz thing: behind this so-called AI, there are thousands of underpaid people inputting data into it. This is as simple as that, there's no progress.

My Wife and I are VO Artists and we both have seen a 50% drop in projects over this past year because more clients are using AI to generate the voices for the different markets. We now struggle to pay the rent and bills, it's quite depressing. I am now thinking of getting back into music production and launching myself as an artist. Even though I am 76 makes no difference as I have a strong inner child and some great music to put out. I went through colon cancer and survived so that must mean something. The road still lays ahead for me. So all you creatives out there feeling the dread of AI, you have to shift gears and re-invent yourself. Just like an actor who can play different roles, we have to do the same thing.

Make that music friend. We have to. This war on art, on talent and on expertise being started by AI pisses me off. When music went digital, I saw the disadvantages (money) but also its many advantages (freedom). With AI I see no advantage, not only for musicians but for the human race in general. I think there has never been a more important moment to make the art we have in us, results be damned.

It seems like history repeats itself. When the Fairlight came out, some concert halls banned this instrument. The fear at the time was that musicians who played in symphonic orchestras were going to all be replaced by samplers. It didn’t happened like that but a lot of side gigs that those musicians were doing for advertising, tv shows and radio jingles got done by this new type of musicians who could use this new tool to do the job cheaper. Before they would need to hire several musicians, an arranger and a producer and after the same job could be done by a producer and a musician with a sampler. Right now we don’t yet know the extent of the capabilities of those tools and my guess is as usage will get more popular, we are likely to see patterns emerge and see in which use case AI generated music works and in which use cases it doesn’t.
@arizzoschettino
Ай бұрын
Good point, I see how there could be a process through which AI becomes a tool and - as such - has to go back in the hands of a craftman, an artisan, to do it. One could say that this has happened already, for example "image upscaling" ...A.I. (but we could call them "algorithms") which are tools someone into digital photography or video can use for a specific task. But something as limited as that is not comparable to an "elevator music generator" which works in conjunction with "people being uneducated about music, to pick on average a simple loop to use as a soundtrack" (and we know A.I. can make a pretty complicated song, not even a loop). It's building houses, not improving the beams to let us build houses. This could be a problem. The other, much simpler and bigger problem, is that behind A.I. like a Wizard of Oz, are thousands of underpaid people filling it up with stuff, so it can work for free afterwards. It's rebranded crap after twenty years of working underpaid after having had the highest pedigree from university and expensive colleges. Sadly there's still nothing more interesting than that, that I can see. Ultimately it might be cheaper again to hire a slave to do something, than use A.I. (as we know it will get expensive as soon as demand increases ;)). So the good ol' human slave can do an even better/worse job than AI for cheap ;)
