Benchmade made this and Leuko knife to gain outdoor enthiusiasts who do not do research! No offence to you but an outdoor knife and soft rubber handle are mutually exclusive!

No offence, but have you ever used a knife in below minus 20 degrees with hard rubber handles or Micarta without gloves? The idea is good and resembles the idea behind birk bark handles, but has its drawbacks...

@@gregors.5734 I have used my Bravo 1 lt and Joker Nomad both with Micarta handle during Canadian Winter and there was little to no problem. Honestly, I think this idea has more drawbacks than benefits. That's why even Fallkniven switched to pinned handles for their X series.

I have heard a lot of people complain about that gap between the blade and handle. Bench made has a warranty. Send it in for a clean up and when it comes back, fill in that gap with some kind of resin or epoxy.

Epoxy will help to prevent this problem? If my knife is brand new?

@@robertfazekas4607 my understanding is that the gap between the blade and the handle is a design issue that impacted most, if not all of these knives. Moisture gets in and the blade can rust without you even seeing it, eating away at the blade and comprising it’s integrity. So it’s better to fill in the gap before moisture can get in there and ruin it. I’m still not sure what the best compound would be though, for filling it in. I would do a little research on Google or Reddit. It’s a common enough knife that I’m sure you’ll find more knowledgeable people who have encountered and dealt with it. God bless you 🙏👍

if you take care of your knife, it's live longer... the not well used or not well maintaned Fallkniven with Thermorun handle can also produice this issue...

I think i’m gonna put some glue or something like it beetween the blasé and the handle to keep watertight the part of the knife in the handle. Mine is basically new so no rust for now, but i’m afraid it will rust there one day

WD-40 can help displace that water. Then slowly adding an oil of sorts between the handle, or could leave the WD-40. OR use benchmades warranty service cause if you bought this, chances are you have more knives.

Mine has this. I'm not sure how common it is. I melted some beeswax in there with a heat gun, but I'm still kind of pissed. Lots of rubber and plastic knives without this problem.

It Is your fault, 3v is not a stainless steel, you have to take care of your tools and wipe them dry after using them.

@@gregors.5734 easy don't let the water get in there. The first place CPM 3V isn't a stainless steel gotta keep that in mind

@@kennytc6 Sure, not using a knife would reduce the chance for that problem to zero percent, but joke aside: anytime you use and clean a knife, it gets in contact with moisture, and the risk is there, especially if the manufacturer has incorporated a design flaw

It’s 100% NOT your fault. That gap is a design flaw. I would send it back for repair (bench made has a warranty) and when it comes back, fill in the gap with some kind of epoxy or resin.

If only we could just make handles and sheaths that wouldnt be a problem strip that handle off sand off that rust slap on some sexy wood handle scales and a custom leather or plastic sheath then BAM no other knife like yours.

Still by far best woodscraft knife dollar for dollar, it is new to production and market benchmade is a great manufacturer of knives and they will sort out any issues discovered by users and this would not deter me from purchasing as im handy enough to know how to repair it myself very quickly and easily lol
