Let's not forget it was Orsino who inadvertly pulled the strings here. That's why I always side with Meredith...if only for a brief time. P.S. Why make Hawke look like Bethany?

Ooof this scene still hurts... I was shocked and searched the internet to see if I could've done anything different to prevent this happening but no. Reminded me of the scene where Lara meets her mother after so long in Tomb Raider Underworld.

Bioware: "So shall we give Quentin a spectacular death scene?" Bioware: "Nah lets have Hawke throw a knife at a skelly instead....." A testament to the half-assed nature of this rushed, cookie cutter dumpster fire of a game.

If this scene makes someone turn against mages, they should consider Leandra could as well be lost to a crazy stalker (like irl yknow?) or a possessed templar.

Bioware didn't do a good job making the templars seem like a joinable faction. If Meredith was reasonable and didn't want to kill an entire circle for the actions of a mage not even in the circle, then maybe there would be a possibility.

Currently in the final act of my first ever playthrough of this game, I abandoned it months and months ago right before the Deep Roads expedition because it simply wasn’t doing anything for me, but I picked it up again last week because I wanted to see out the trilogy in preparation for the new game. My opinions still haven’t changed for the most part, I still think the game is weaker than the first in every aspect, world-building, story and characters included. But this singular moment evoked more emotion from me than any I’d seen so far in this series. I genuinely felt anger and sadness at what happened to Leandra, I wanted Quentin dead and I genuinely had to pause for a moment when she reveals what’s happened to her. It’s such a horrific, brutal, heartbreaking scene and I both applaud the writers for how masterfully they crafted the scene and curse them for making it happen. Also, I killed Gascard because I had a feeling there was something fishy about him, and didn’t know this option was in the game. This is why I love Varric, such a bro.

What annoys me most is everyone save Anders gets that Hawke is incredibly angry and bitter. Even Aveline let's Hawke take their rage out on her specifically but Anders is so focused on his precious mage rights he uses his moment afterwards to remind us not to take out our rage on innocent mages including the ones that enabled Quintian's experiments Spoiler Alert Both the Grand Enchanter and The Mage's Underground hid Quintian's activities

That's why with my warden I tell the templars to take him. Guy is woe to me for being a mage all the time even with the warden. A petulant child in a man's body who thinks the only way to change things is to make a loud enough explosion. Dragonage absolution kind of has the same vibe with the mages they showed except for the qunari. Like I swear only dragonage origin had some sane mages in it.

@@randomclod385 I feel sorry for Miriam and yes Qwydion (sp?) Is the kind of mage I like my QunariQuisitor to be but Rezaren reminds me of Anders so much right down to blind adherence to a pathway regardless of how many people get hurt or killed as a result.

@@PostalDude97 He had his cat, and he had support in the beginning but kept running away they were forced to lock him up. You seen Irving and Gregor. Even that blood magic mage Jowan under suspicion of blood magic was still able to be a circle mage until proof of it. I remember this quote morrigan said flemeth said. Things are the way they are because they could not be any other way. I don't think blowing up the chantry with no actual plan afterward except full out war would help things, especially if he intends to die or run away afterwards.

Going full templar feels odd... Guess the game hopes you go with the mages.. like in awakening the game points you go and defend vigil.. Personally as soon as Bethany's was in the circle siding with the Templar was out of the question.

This is the thing about DA2 that i hated the most; its ending. No matter what side you choose, you always end up fighting both Meredith and Orsino because the devs dictated you should fight them both, thus turning both of them into mentally retarded paranoiacs in the end.

The Templars and Circle of Magi are needed. But the Circle could work more as a college to teach the mages control their powers and pass the Harrowing. after that they're released, the phylactery still needed so if the alumni mages gone rogue or doing some blood magic shit the Templars will track them down. The Templars should be the special force to deal with bad mages, not like fishing for mage.

Fighting Orsino make sense if sided with the Templar. But I don't get it when we sided with the mages we fight him anyway?! Wtf. I get it we fight Meredith anyway even if we sided with the Templar bc she already bat shit crazy, plus if Hawke is a mage she'll kill Hawke nonetheless.
