I really like this guy, his take on things, his remixes. But please stop calling him a genius and a legend. It’s overblown, and takes so much away from the simple workhorse integrity of who he really was.

What an amazing life in art. Sad news in 2020. It's only just sunk in today here. I love how he's so upfront about his art and shinnanigiins that he can remember. What is EGOs, fuck nose? A true pioneer of art in music with no limits - now I didn't know he could paint (Did he help banksey I wonder lol? Old Street Banana Police touch ups perhaps?.) I was lucky to have encountered this remarkable unit in the basement zone in the notorious Fortress Studios, Old Street/ The Ditch Shore. I woke up, popped to the loo and heaps of happy people knocking about, so head downstairs to investigate. Glad I did. The highlight for me has to be the Sabres of Paradise project which is played to the NZ unknowing every week here at the Motueka Market, with the broad range of "Wilmot Meets Lord Scruffage" on another dimension still to this day, I dedicated Smokebeltch II to my father who passed back in the early 00s, incredible emotions of sadness embraced with joy somehow. So many tracks and mixes, even the versus remixes with LFOs in the Nursery delivered. The Earl is proud sailor, and eye thought we had a new run of sound coming after finding Lick Wid Nit Wit by accident. You lived through a superb era as she looks a bit f'ed now. Internet bro fist and safe travels out there through the Haunted Dancehall. I take it this isn't a hoax art piece, and you took the Monolift? Tow Truck - Camel Towing mix. (No matter how deep he's in they'll pull him out.) All the best mate. C'apn x 🌈🦄⚓️

Just like in his music, Andrew was clearly more layered than you first pick up on the first listen. I will miss him. My condolences and sympathies to his family, friends and all at RGC.

Very sad news losing Andrew. One of the biggest influencers on me as a DJ, and one the best interviewees on my KISS show back in the day where he gave both me and the listeners a real musical education on the 'Defining musical moment' slot. I also booked him for club nights in Manchester and had the honour of doing the warm up for him on a few occasions, each time he was utterly brilliant and it was an utter thrill to play with him. He was utterly engaging, and a proper geezar and actually very generous to me as a young kid inviting me to his studio to hang out. As a really young man making my way in the industry, it used to fill me with pride that when I saw him at a festival or at a record shop and he'd smile and go "alright Matt" - I mean this guy produced Screamdelica and he's acknowledging me! My favourite of all the original House and Baleric DJ's. He's the greatest for me out of all the UK pioneers as he was the DJ who could put an eclectic set of tunes together and make it make total and utter sense. And,... he never sold out. The best of his generation. Even now not being part of the scene if I want to put a set on at home, he's the first guy I think of sticking on. An absolute innovator and one of a kind. An army of dance lovers and aficionados will be in mourning tonight. You will be missed Andrew. RIP fella, thanks for the good times.

@Cicada 3301 self promotion and disingenuous? I'm not even in music anymore and have no interest in promoting myself. What you have judged to be a narcissistic act I am completely comfortable in knowing is a genuine ode to Andrew and the impact he had on me, and something I wanted to share with people. And, I am not the only one who have re-posted their stories about Andrew. Personally, I don't think it's appropriate that you're criticising people who want to share the impact he had on them when their intentions are nothing but good.

For me, Andrew always talked about taking sounds out of the computer and running them through valves, tape echoes, pedals, and I always did it. He taught me the value of roughing up sounds. I am eternally grateful.

"Integrity" is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. That is Andrew.
