Not gonna lie, you really saved me up a lot of interrogations, buddy. Most of the time i just go, drawing and "figuring out with the flow" the character and things, but i never REALLY thought that it could help more than the reverse to actually think and "prepare" the design before drawing for selling it REALLY THANKS FOR SHARING

The original is waaaaaay better than the redesign. Don't second guess your instincts based on other people's poor judgment.

So you have a battlefield engineer with massive sleeves? Sure they won't get caught in machinery. And pretty sure a roving workshop won't get picked off or just tracked to the location of the engineer to literally kill 2 birds with one sniper rifle?

the composition on the 7:04 is SO GOOD I am totally gonna try something like this, the pop of color on the side with a bit of a background behind her as well as it being covered in some enviormental lighting making her stand oout is just perfect!!! I haven't fealt this motivated to try something out in years, thanks big time :D

Absolutely blows my mind you've not made a youtube video before! Absolutely love your art and explanation of your artistic decisions, it really emphasises the important qualities needed to make an appealing concept. Engie is such an absolutely charming character concept. Can't wait to see more of your art on both your instagram and here on youtube! "Starts on a wrong page" killed me 😆

First off amazing video Naka! 2nd yeah I think it would be cool if you did a vid or some more videos on character design specifically the concept art phase and how to come up with the ideas in the first place. Are some ideas just bad and no amount of polish can fix it? Also how to make characters designs that feel believable in both story and art.

That is such a stark improvement! Years of practice put to good use, I see. Such a pleasure to see you sharing your ideas with the world and rising to be a major concept art KZitemr! The bold use of silhouette and shape design is really the well-timed tidbit of inspiration I came here for!

Anatomy is always a touchy subject when designing a heavily stylized character. You have to know it extensively, yet when designing like this, it's all about what to use and what to simplify.
