I live in Poland and have hectar-size real-estate in Warsaw. Poland can be described as wealthy Belarus. It was doing very well when it had conservative government dominated by PiS party. Now it has neo-Marxist government dominated by PO party. Its leader, Donald Tusk, is called prime-minister for life because he tramples the constitution and will go to jail as soon he retires. Tusk resembles Lukashenko - he will rather die than give up political power.

As a member of a middle-class Japanese family, I can confirm that our economy has been stagnant for the past two decades and continues to decline slowly. Despite this, the prices of goods have remained relatively stable, and wages have increased slightly to match any price changes. I can't speak for other countries, but I'm content with maintaining this status quo. I believe that long-term stability is essential for a better quality of life and future happiness. Life shouldn't be treated as a gamble.

The graph at 1:00 has to be wrong. The Polish economy was not larger than the british one in 2000. Also next time please add axes labels to your graphs. Now for all we know you could be plotting the number of cute puppies in the country

It's not Poland becoming rich, it's western European countries becoming poor (when you import 3rd world, you become 3rd world).

Other former Eastern Bloc countries did the same shatty reforms and we're poor as hell. Poles simply manage their country better and utilize european funds more wisely and effectively.

This was a great video. I'm happy that you combine italys success and other connected problems to that. Such as berlusconi. I enjoy not having to hear the same bs. Pointing those more "natural" problems that occur in a country such as the aging population or brain drain

Overpopulation and becoming too financially dependent on one city which is Seoul. It has made them a one dimensional city, so much so they tried to create artificial cities to create organic economies over there but it failed because ppl don’t want to move there.

In Russia there's a classic metaphor for the country - three fast horses, driving a wagon through lands, following endless roads. And there's a beautiful coincidence. I can't be sure, if this is the same for most of the people, but many Russians will definitely say, that the shape of their country resembles a horse, whose legs and head you can distinguish easily

I would say it's really about the climate. Not a lot of people live up north. A lot of us don't do that well in the cold, especially not immigrants that came from warmer countries. Also, there's the question of work: if we were evenly distributed across the country, I don't think we would be able able to have enough workers to work at each company, and there would be little other people in case your employees quit. But really, it's about the climate. I for sure wouldn't be down to move up there.
