Uh' hu' a little history lesson on the truth" There was once a brother who beat Terry Vance and Bryon Hines when they were racing Honda 750s and suzuki's he beat them with a Honda and a Kawasaki he was in Los Angeles CA and went by the name of sweet James as a matter of fact he's beaten most of the great name's of the sport out of the Los Angeles CA area" he went by the name of Sweet James' just ask Bryon himself does that name ring a bell: and if he denies it let me know because sweet James is still alive and he's got the trophy's to prove it'

they really never lost a race because the winner of both races was running there oroduct assembled with there expertese so when they lost they actually were the winning team because you can not loose a race to yourself either way they won

First meet these guys in 1975 when they still worked with Russ, I found all three of them very friendly and super helpful nice people thanks Terry and Byron and RIP RC.

I worked at R.C. Engineering before Vance & Hines left and formed their company. My opinion: Byron = humble, quiet, a genius. Terry: head too big for his shoulders. As a joke, someone pasted dialog bubble on a Terry Vance/Suzuki poster in the shop that said "It's hard to be humble when you're great." Geez I'm surprised he never actually said that himself.

I know it's better to win, but there must have been some consolation for Byron Hines that he was beaten with his own creations.

The Sorcerer was a double engine bike. The bike Russ Collins had before this one was the triple engine Acheson, Topeka, and Santa Fe.

Top Fuel never scared my dad Jim Bernard. Terry and Byron had the business savvy I wish my dad would have followed however. Such is life.
